Vitamin supplements

Morning all, chilly here today, but at least not foggy. Sort of related to my last post and in case my next telephone appointment with docs is not totally productive do people have a preferred make/type of vitamin D (Adcal D3?) K2 and anything else sensible to be taking? Also what strength? There seems to be a huge choice on the market. I take a supermarket multivitamin at the moment, but comments here suggest that is not sensible as they contain unnecessary and possibly contrary ingredients, so I am going to give that the old heave ho. Many thanks. Peter

My husband uses a spray - once a week and no swallowing problems. I just get a good value for money tablet form one - strangely the current 4000 IU tablets are tiny, about half the size of the 1000 IU ones that cost almost the same!

Ta muchly, there seems to be such a choice and I was also wondering if there are any which need to be avoided.

Not that I know of - every country has their own selection and just finding one that suits you from a reliable supplier is what matters.

Colicalciferol is Vit D3 just incase you were unsure.

I take 2 Adcal-D3 daily which has 800 IU Vit D, plus calcium as prescribed by my doctor. I also take Omega 3, Turmeric active, vitamin C daily. Epsom salt foot bath is also good. All of these are anti inflammatory.

Thank you one and all for your assistance. I seem to be having a problem with getting my doc (think she is new to the practice) to prescribe anything at the moment, in spite of NHS guidelines, I've got a telephone appointment on Monday week and I wanted to be clear in my mind, everything for the forthcoming "discussion". There is such a choice on the market I also wanted an idea of what others are taking in case I have to provide it myself. Once again, many thanks. Peter

Seems like it might be a good day!!! Had my telephone consultation with the Doc this morning and I was very pleasantly surprised. She was in full agreement with the action I had taken regarding upping my Pred to flatten a flare, and she told me not to be worried about strictly adhering to any tapering regime, as everyone is different and reacts in different ways and to carry on with whatever suits me. Going in for full bloods on Thursday then we will decide on what if anything needs to done for "bone care" and vitamins. 😃
