Sunday Times 16 July 2017

If you have access to a Sunday Times today (16 July 2017) the magazine carries an interesting article (page 32) about a lady from Bournemouth who has GCA and PMR and has been involved in tocilizumab trial. This drug is an alternative for those having problems with Prednisolone and it makes for interesting reading.

Interesting same story in "rival" publications! Still all the publicity is useful. My wife was knocked out when she started reading the article (because we lived in Bournemouth) and exclaimed with great surprise this is about GCA

It's possibly a press release to gain publicity for GCA and tocilizumab.

Thanks DevonMichael, I haven't had a chance to look at the papers yet. Thanks for the heads up. How are you doing?

Doing well thanks Sheffieldjane. Just finishing a month on 3mg and I go to 2mg tomorrow. Also attending a meeting at Keele University tomorrow to share my GCA experience with a group that are initiating a research project. If I maintain current path hopefully it will be a good news case study!

Hi DevonMichael

Great being down to 3mg but ...

Should you contemplate dropping 1mg in one step ?

Most of the advice on here says 10% only each drop .

Difficult I know at your stage but ...

Pred tablets are available in 2.5 mg (depending on where you are located) and if you alternated each day with 3mg you could have your next month at the equivalent of 2.75mg ... then the following month at 2.5mg then ...

2mg... ?

Good luck x
