We have two excellent speakers that are medical professionals and have been heavily involved in PMRGCA research and consultations over the last decade. The meeting I attended today was excellent and well worth the time and effort.
Anyone in the North East should really try and go to a support meeting and join. The venue was easy off road parking. Tea, Coffee, biscuits and home made cake. People learnt a lot and the flow of two way information between the speakers and members was very informative.
The two Consultants, Dr Sarah Mackie a Leading Researcher into PMR & GCA, and Dr Saravan Vavidelu, Consultant Rheumatologist held a presentation, introducing a new initiative regarding raising awareness with the GPs in the North East and Cumbria which will commence early 2020. They took suggestions away with them from the patients that were present. They intend to come back in the future. The next meeting of the group will be in November.
