hi my first post, I suffer from what I suspect in pelvic floor pain due to IBS following bowel surgery
Great difficulty with BM which result in staring and make the problem worse, trying to get help but as a male this incredibly difficult as NHS only seems to treat women
Have to take laxido and I am in constant pain on left side by hip, my abductors are very tight and seem to be contributing to the proble
I was very fit and normal weight but now lost fitness and weight worried about where this is going

Sorry about what you are going through! Can you find a Pelvuc Health Physical Therapist that treats men & women? I was so fit too, I looked awesome, but it's gone! I am at a year & a half with Pudendal Neuralgia & it's been a long crazy 🤪 ride & I want off!!! I just started Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy at a very knowledgeable place. You will get better 💪💪
Hi so far no luck in getting a pelvic physio sadly
I have now got an appointment on colorectal , I am supposed to under the care of a Gastro but she is useless , possibly the worst consultant I ever came across, her meetings are always by phone and is incredible rude implying it is all in my head and I should take more antidepressants .So Iam in no hurry to she her again. I am hoping this new meeting will lead down a better pathway.
I am sorry to hear you also suffer , I feel there are a lot of us dealing with this alone without much help or support from health services.
In my opinion & experience gastros are useless if your pain is from pelvic floor dysfunction. Years ago, I was diagnosed with IBS because of my constipation issues but I changed my foods, added miralax & drink alot more water. If you have bowel issues , your bowel sphincter muscles might be an issue.. I am not a Dr!!!There are so many nerves, muscles, fascia & more in our rectum that effect our Pelvic Floor which includes all genitalia, rectum, obturator muscles & hips. Have you had any imaging test done? You should get a special MRI, one that can detect nerve, etc issues. I live in the US & looked up Pelvic Floor Specialist Physical Therapy. Can you do that? Again, I would recommend you research until you find a Pelvic Health Specialist who only treats Pelvic Floor Dysfunction... theycare the most knowledgeable
Laxido is a bulking laxative, I have issues taking this. You might like to try stool softeners I take prescribed docusate twice daily, magnesium twice daily, glycerine suppositories when no BM but try not to get here. Not too much fibre, look at soluble fibre. Include lots of fluid with meals. Reduce red meat, increase vegetables that are cooked, soups, stews, lots of added liquids.
I have colon issue that has literally just been discovered. Gynaecologist diagnosed me in June with hypertonic pelvic floor without investigation of other painful issues. Now waiting to hear about surgery on colon, surgeon thinks hypertonic pelvic floor is because of colon issue.
