I know , it’s awful , spent Christmas in silence suffering while everyone could sit without issues.
Im still trying to beat this beast of a tight pelvic floor. No pain in the genital area , no problem passing urine and no erectile dysfunction. I pass stools fine…it’s just pain sitting in my glutes and perineum . It’s feels a crushed and and when lying down my left glute is on fire. Ive seen two specialist and told me it’s tight pelvic floor. I suffer with real bad anxiety. I was on notriptyline. Stopped it and now on Lyrica 300 a day. 150 and 150pm. Not gonna lie I’ve got a fuzzy head but it does give you that confidence I’m smashing calls at work and completely switch off when I finish whereas before I would log back on etc. Now I start internal massages to release this tension and I’ve bought a wand . It’s looks pretty it’s yellow and the phisio is going to show me how to use it. Anyone out there who uses a wand does it work? Also I started adding Deluxotine to the Lyrica but I didn’t like it and I’ve now started notriptyline again as apparently they work really well together so back on 20mg a night…anyone had any success with this mixture medicines….please message on here or privately

Hello and so sorry to read all your pain. My husband has had a tight pubic floor and by God's mercy is doing better. He still has flares, but better than he was. There's a book called headache in the pelvis, and there's a doc in California there is a clinic you can go to for 6 days but we couldn't make it there. We found a doctor in Bethlehem Pa, Dr Echenberg of the Echenberg institute for pelvic and sexual pain. He does Botox to the pelvic floor to relax the muscles so the nerves will stop firing causing pain and by God's mercy it really helps. It calms everything down enough to do the self therapy everyday. Just keep doing the therapy and if you get the Botox injections, and he also does trigger points injections and nerve blocks. Please Google that and give them a call. He is the best doctor we have ever met and a great friend. He's retiring soon but will still take calls and then he has 3 doctors taking over for him and we met one of them and she is very nice and very skilled and knowledgeable. The new docs are in NJ (only women), KY and FL. I don't know anywhere else you can get this great treatment. By God's mercy my husband is off of his meds and just had them for back up if he gets a flare. Also for sleep doxepin for a short time really helped my husband. Once you start sleeping and get your pain reduced your anxiety will get better. Keep up the good work and do your therapy and try to get a hold of DR Echenberg. God be with you all and may God heal you all completely and speedily.
So i know things might seem tough, but there is so much hope because you don't have structural damage. Here's what I would do:
1) continue pelvic floor therapy
2) reduce/stop masturbation/sex...you need time to relax! From jaw to abdominals to pelvic floor, you're holding onto a lot. Hypogastric reflex is likely over engaged too (sucking in your stomach will do this)
3) look into mind body therapy--Sarno
4) reduce screen time, no neurotic googling!
5) learn how to breathe with your diaphragm. Lighter the better. When were in pain and anxious we want to breathe faster because we're panicked. This is a cycle you need to break, slow breathing where you can feel your heartbeat will shine a light on a different way. Look into soma breathing--Niraj Naik.
6) all together, you need to reduce stress
If you can do these religiously for 3 months, you should see a big change. Good luck.
Thank you. My childhood was tough not going to lie I carry so much stress on me and Lyrica has kind of calmed that down….weve all got this. I’m also see a pelvic specialist who is going to look internally and see what could be causing this…..what medication are you on?
