I am in the States, and I have a 19cm Fibroid, that I had a MRI for back in 2017. Had a CAT scan done this year and it showed two more round balls inside my uterus! It will be a year in July that I stopped having periods, so bleeding. The doctor thinks it is cancer, but I have no weight loss or bleeding. I am so scared, I do not know what to do. Can you get more Fibroids after years of having just a big one. I am not experiencing any pain, and I hope this is menopause at 47 years old. Any ideas??

Hi Spaghettilover. Yes you can get more fibroid. My daughter is 48 years and is going through her menopause. She has been for a few years and can go over a year without a period. Then it's very heavy and she doesn't have anymore for ages. If your doctors telling you he thinks it's cancer what are they going to do! You need a positive answer to find out and, if so the right treatment. I hope all goes well and please let us know how you get on.
I agree with Nothingimpossible, your first respondent. Nothing is worse than uncertainty and fear. You need a precise diagnosis (is it, or is it not cancer?) and an appropriate plan for treatment for whatever it is. Meanwhile it's great that you have no physical pain or bleeding. Look after yourself and try to do all the normal things that make you feel good and healthy. Sending a hug. x
I was in a similar position to you almost a year ago to the day! An ultrasound scan showed a mass in my uterus and since I am post menopausal it was followed up with an MRI then a CT. I was told that the mass was in my uterus and there were strong suspicions of sarcoma based on the imaging. I had a total abdominal hysterectomy and the mass was found to be ovarian and it was a fibroma which is similar to a fibroid and totally benign. I suppose I am answering your comment because I wanted to say that things aren't always what they seem and things that, on the surface, seem bad can in fact be innocent in nature. Sending love xx
Hi Don't go by your doctor 'think' it might cancer. Certainly not the news you want to hear, they THINK!!! Seek another option by starting over again and have a vaginal scan to be diagnosed properly. Nothing to be frightened off, but certainly keep away from 'they think'
Your energy and mind could do without.
Step at a time, go for the vaginal scan then. Take care!
