Hi all. So I've been having major issues with my periods for over a year and very bad lower abdomen pain and pelvic pain even when off my period.
I had a scan done last August and it showed no cysts or major issues but had another scan done 7 weeks ago and now have a bilocular avascular cyst on my right ovarie which is just under 4cm in all directions. My doctors surgery isn't the best and is currently being run by locums as both doctors were sacked. I've been referred to the gynecologist but that isn't until June due to waiting lists.
I'm worried about the size of the cyst and that I have googled it ( I know I shouldnt) but from what I can see it's the more dangerous of ovarie cysts and its causing alot of pain.
Has anyone had this type of bilocular avascular cyst before?? Would I need a operation to remove it and is it dangerous?

Sammy I know nothing about this kind of cyst, but I see you've had no replies, so I just wanted to send sympathy. I would have googled it too, and the pain is upsetting and worrying. Meanwhile, you wait and wait for an appointment and sometimes the anxiety also makes you ill.
I recently went to see a gynaecologist privately. The 45 min consultation cost £201 but I think it was worth it. I found a private clinic and online was able to read through the background and experience of all the consultants working there, then chose one with the specialism I needed (it was a prolapse issue). I got an appointment almost immediately. Afterwards she wrote to my GP with a full description of what she had diagnosed and recommended, so I could continue with treatment inside the NHS if I wanted to. Just being able to talk it through with an expert was worth a fortune to me. I don't have a lot of money, but I thought this was worth it.
