I suffer with severe pain [ using morphine patches and tramadol]from adhesions due to multiple surgeries. A friend of a friend has suggested that serrapeptase supplements may help. I am loathe to try a new medication and I can't seem to find any proper information online as to why this would help. Any comments most welcome thank you

Its not a medicine. It’s an enzyme that breaks down fibrin and has been shown to help break down scar tissue. I had no issues using it.

Hi, I have been taking it for some time as I have Tarlov cysts in my sacrum which cause sensory nerves in my legs to burn.I have found it quite good - it has taken down the pain considerably Hope this helps.Good luck.

I have been in pain for 10 years from adhesions and scar tissue due to 10 lifetime endo related surgeries. This April went into a pelvic floor rehab program. No one thing works for everyone, but you try everything and look for something that works for you.

Seven months later (yes - it takes time and work) ... after near 10 years... my average pain level (without medication) is down from a 7 to a 2. I have dropped 20 pounds and converted some of my remaining pounds from fat to muscle...

Do what you need to do with pain meds, but please do not give up trying alternative therapies. I am 64 years old, so it is not too late. Among the most successful modalities for me are botoxing spasming pelvic muscles, less expensive is suppository form muscle relaxants. Both allow you to work on adhesions without as much pain.

Myofascial massage work - which starts by releasing scarred abdominal/pelvic fascia, then scars and eventually adhesions... It can be painful work so take it easy and peel the onion a bit at a time. My myofascial therapist uses a device called a Dolphin (e accupuncture - no needles). It is "FDA approved" in Canada for pain. It is legal here, and I bought a knock off on Amazon to do work at home...

Also traditional PT to strengthen muscles that have not been used due to inactivity from pain. You might be surprised at the muscles outside of the abdomen that have atrophied from lack of use and cringing from oain?

Wishing you the best. Use your meds but try to find alternative therapies?

the more opiates that you take the less effective that are and can increase pain. You need to ditch the drugs in a supervised manor within a chronic pain management programme. Adhesions unless causing a mechanical obstruction don’t cause pain. Established scar tissue won’t break down or remodel.

Just wanted to say that it's very important to buy enteric coated serrapeptase as otherwise it gets dissolved in the stomach before being useful to you. Also you must take it 30 minutes before or 2 hours after eating. If you take too close to food instead of breaking down scar tissue it just works on your meal!
