Dilator vs. therapy wand for tight pelvic muscles

I was wondering if any of you have recovered from chronically tight pelvic floor muscles. I'm using a dilator currently and going twice weekly to a good physical therapist who gives me internal therapy. I've been at this for months and I have improved but the tightness and pain is stubbornly persisting. Should I be using a therapy wand instead of a dilator because when my therapist stretches my pelvic muscles with her finger, I get more relief than when using a dilator. She presses on certain tender spots and that helps with pain. But I can't really get to any tender spots with a dilator. The dilator just pretty much stretches the muscles. Any advice on using a dilator vs. therapy wand? I use Intimate Rose dilators and I'm currently using a size 5. Thanks!

Can your therapist teach you how to use a wand?

Hi! Thank you for the response. Yes, my Physio is very helpful and I think she would be willing to teach me. It's nice that your husband helps you. I'm sorry you're not totally well. I wonder if this pain will be with me for the rest of my life. It's hard to deal with sometimes. I went up to a size 6 yesterday and I noticed it really stretched me and it reduced the pain, so that's good. Maybe I was just using the size 5 too long and it was time to move up. I don't know.

I have no experience with dilators. Physio just does trigger point therapy in terms of hands on with me.

I have been having this therapy for 6 years. Physio taught my husband how to do it at home. With fingers and wand, need both. I am not better but physio just helps to reduce the pain for a couple of days.
