Acupuncture and periods?

Suffered with pelvic pain and very heavy/clotty periods for over a year! Soon to have a biopsy etc done! Last week was my period and on the day it ended I went for my first session of abdominal acupuncture! So I’ve had 3 sessions now within a week and this morning I’ve woken up to a period starting 😳 I’m always regular every month! Anyone know if acupuncture would cause this?

Hi, It is possible. I had a course of acupuncture for migraines many moons ago, and I ended up having an extremely heavy period afterwards. It happened more than once. I was however, after a while diagnosed with large fibroids, so whether the acupuncture had made the fibroids grow I have no idea. I can only tell you what happened to me at the time.
