it does take a while to get relief, and it wont work well until you get to that level that is best for you, also maybe you will need a cocktail of pain meds, most of us do, so please see your gp or pain doctor to help you

Mindfulness techniques, meditation, is helpful. Most drugs seem to deaden the brain and repress creativity for me but not for others. Mindfulness has been an additional tool to help. It also helps to get life into a focus

Your mind is stronger than you give it credit. Tried for how long? There are no magic bullet solutions and endurance in confronting this is essential. We are all different and what works for some does not for others. All pain meds have cede effects for me but they are a great help for others. I have not tried a tens machine but will now.

Stay strong and focus on the far horizon and your goals in life beyond ...

Hi I tried mindfulness for 9 months I am now a member of uncommon knowledge and I have been buying downloads from them I have quite a few downloads this is hypnosis hope this will help

Hi. I have one and have tried it with a little success. I have seen a pelvic pain physio l, their advice was to use the four electrodes around L2-3 on my lower back, to interrupt potential signals from the pudendal nerve. I think it is hard for me to advise you, ideally you need a medical professional to advise you, but no harm can come to you if you experiment I guess. One word of warning - my physio said don't use the Pulse setting - that can cause the muscles to contract which is what you don't want. You want the 'buzzing' only, to interrupt the pain. Hope that helps! A.

Hi, I was reading through and scanning responses on anything regarding pelvic pain and its relationship with the back.I have been seeing a pain management doctor whose specialty is the spine. After telling him about seeing things on a forum about this relationship, and he has never heard of that before. I also have severe stinging from the botttom of my left foot radiatingup to the pelvic area. None of this was going on until I had a partial hysterectomy a little over three years ago. So, he has ordered an MRI next Wed. to ilook again. II have had so many tests in the past three years I'm afraid of nothing showing up. I have been from a to z with doctors and tests and the Mayo Clinic as the last one about two and a half years ago. Does anyone know if messages are archived in this forum? I remember a couple of months back seeing something in relation to your info regarding a connection with the back and pelvic pain. I hope this is making sense. Thanks for any help.

Hi there. Yes I was given a prescription after my Decompression Surgery. It was placed on lower back.. unfortunately it did not provide any relief. Acupuncture did for a while. Take great care of yourself. I take Rivotril Clonzapan which does help a lot! :-) As your Doctor to tell you exactly where to place the pads and also about medication. lots of luck and goodwill.

Hey Janebee.

My physio lent me her tens machine and placed it on my sacrifice illaic joints. Just above my bum crack. So imagine if your bum crack (sorry for graphic words) is the middle you place them beside it just above the line. Then two more inner thighs quite close to vagina on the closer to the bottom of your thigh. It helped me when I had bad pain but sometimes it could make me tense up but it definitely helped when I was experiencing bad pain. 😊

Hi thanks so much for your reply I haven't been on the sight for some time as I have been in so much pain and I am still waiting on a appointment for the pain clinic that's been over 3 months I have been waiting e tens machine that I have got has only got two electrodes on it and it is supposed to be for pelvic pain and the place it is showing you to put them dose not do anything for the pain thanks again for your information I really appreciate it

lala93 profile image
lala93 in reply toJanebee

Hey janbee. That is okay, sorry to hear you are in bad pain. Hopefully your pain will start settling down soon. Are you placing the pads near the inner thigh, closer to the beggining of the bum. Because you are in a lot of pain you will need a higher setting (I'm sure you already know this information but worth a shot). Keep trying the tens machine because my physio explained to me that the vibrations it sends to your body provides your brain with normal signals so your body learns to understand when you receive a feeling from that body part you don't need to cause pain. It's all about teaching your body normal signals because at the moment your signals are all over the place. I would keep trying!

Janebee profile image
Janebee in reply tolala93

Hi thanks so much for your information in the instructions it tells you to please the pads at each side of your navel and I am not getting any relief from that so I am going to try it where you put yours so that is on each thigh at the back closer to your bum so just tell me if I have got that right Thanks so much x

lala93 profile image
lala93 in reply toJanebee

Hey Janbee. Oh really! I wouldn't think to put it there. How I applied the pads each night ( physio told me to use it for half an hour each night even if I didn't have any pain) I would look in the mirror, sitting on the ground and open my legs, bending my knees. The area of skin Where it changes from the inner thigh to bum that's where I placed them. If I was experiencing pain I would have it on a higher level. Try to get it as close to the areas you get paid. Because the pudendal nerve runs through your pelvis and I can get a sore lower back I was also told you put it on my sacro illiac, maybe try that area too. Your meant to put it on a setting level that you feel the buzzing for the first few minutes and then eventually it eases down otherwise you have it too High.

Hi thanks so much for your help it really means a lot to me this pain is driving me crazy as soon as I get up in the morning and sit down it starts I have no pain lying down so to me it seems to be pressure that's causing it I have been treated for that many different things from getting my bladder stretched UTI Thrush hormone defishency and it has been going on for nearly 3 yrs I am nearly reaching breaking point I have bought 4 different cushions to see if it would help with the pressure and not one have helped the last one I bought cost me £200 and it was meant to be for pelvic pain and then I bought a acupuncture machine and a Tens machine I am fed up waisting money and nothing works I will certainly try the position you have showed me Thanks. Janebee x

lala93 profile image
lala93 in reply toJanebee

Hey janbee. I am glad to help. Yes definitely a pressure thing, sitting puts pressure on the nerve so it plays up. I find a really hard seat is bad but a really comfortable couch is good for me. Haven't tried a cushion yet but you would have to try and figure out how to sit without upsetting the PN nerve. The other things I would suggest is going to see a physio for some pain relief mechanisms. The pain specialist should help you also. If you experience bad pain everyday, a trick of mine is lidocaine cream. Basically it's a numbing cream. So it blocks the pain signials to your brain meaning no pain. If your pain is in a certain area, put a bit of that cream on it and the relief lasts hours. You can get it from a chemist, is around $30-40 for a small tube but you only need a little bit:) another tick is heat packs as it relaxes the muscles! Hope these help. X

Janebee in reply tolala93

Hi lala93 I use lidocaine and I am down to 1/2 tube I have got to set mine from Sri Lanca as I can't seem to get in the Uk I am waiting on a order coming and I use vagicool ice packs but like everything else it only lasts a short time I am going to the dentist just now as I have a abscess in my mouth I have been up the whole night it would be wonderfull if you could get a day pain freeThanks again for your help

lala93 profile image
lala93 in reply toJanebee

Hi janebee. Sorry to hear about your abscess that must be incredibly painful. I had never heard of vagicool, so I looked it up, all though the relief wouldn't last long at least there is options. The pain specialist should be able to prescribe something strong to give you relief. Good luck with everything! Xx

Janebee in reply tolala93

Hi lala93 thanks for your support I tried the tens machine where you told me to put the electrodes and while it was on it definitely helped with the pain so that is a step forward I dident get any relief putting on the place where the instructions should me to put them hopefully it will keep working that was the first time I tried them there Thanks again Janebee x

Agree lidocaine cream or gel is not something we can get in the UK. There are some bite/sting creams that have it, 2% only. How do you purchase it from Sr Lanka (website) and what strength? A.

Hi I go onto eBay and order I got my last order from the UK and I am sure I got it from a chemist from the UK if I can find it I will let you know you have got to fill in a very small form and they ask you what you are using it for I just said waxing and I got it. Janebee

Thanks. I'll try that. Do you have to say why you want it? I remember getting denied Lidocaine gel on a UK site some time ago...? Andy

Yes it asks you what you want it for and the first time I said for pelvic pain and I was refused it so the second time I said it was for waxing and I got it you can also get it for tattoos. Janebee. Xx

Jane bee. I just looked at the cushion on Amazon. It looks like it might keep tailbone from touching a surface, but the valley cutout doesn't look as tho it is long enough to keep perineal area off a surface. That's where I get in trouble.... when I would sit on a solid surface for a short amount of time, I would begin with PN pain the next day. What is your opinion on this?

Hi Chic1943 so far it is the best cushion I have bought I have only been using it 2 days and find it quite good who knows it might not last and you know what works for me might not work for someone else I bought it as a last resort in cushions as I have spent so much money on cushions that don't work I will keep you updated on it and let you know how it is. Hi, I have been off for awhile and just read your post. I can't believe it. I'm hoping that this is the answer no one ever mentioned. I've seen so many doctors and specialists and Mayo Clinic a dozen times. It just shows how much they don't know. I'm so thankful I came back to this site. I was really going to read up on Parkinson's since both of my brothers have it. It's so weird they have different types of Parkinson's. Thank you SO much. I need to reread your message again...forgot what I read other than the info pertaining to me!!haha

Dcleary

Hi, again....can you please explain what your problem was and procedure if possible. I don't know what the H word is. Also, can you relate anything in my message where I explained my situation. I always thought that I had one major pain issue since it was all rolling together. I was almost at the point of telling all these docs at the Mayo Clinic they were liars. Hehehe

They said I had TWO chronic pain issues!! Thanks for any info. Also, I saw a psysio for a period of time.

I just realized that this was written 2 years ago. I sure thought I had been on here since then. But, if you happen to see this, hopefully, I will be more attentive to the site. I will Google search it and maybe can find out something. I hope you are doing well.
