Has anyone had experience with Agmatine for pudendal nerve irritation? I remember seeing it mentioned on the PP Supporr Network but can't find the message now. I have hypertonic pelvic muscles, particularly the puborectalis muscle. When I have a BM the PR muscle spasms and probably is irritating the branch of the PN that runs through the rectum. I don't want to try gabapentin.
Agmatine: Has anyone had experience... - Pelvic Pain Suppo...
Agmatine
Yeah I have the same as you and I've heard that it helps too. I bought some but I haven't tried it yet because I'm still on my 300 mg low dose gabapentin at night and I decided to titrate down and maybe try to come off it since I've been on it about six months and it really helped but I want to try more natural products. I'm talking to my pain doctor next week about it... Also I was wondering if you have tried any CBD products because my friend said 750 mg full spectrum CBD is good for neuropathic pain. I was in pelvic floor physical therapy for a year and now I go once a month or once every two months to be checked and to be honest it's really good emotional support. I have also been on a low dose cyclobenzaprine 5mg once or twice a day for a few months and that's helped but my pelvic floor physical therapist said that it's the same as you hypertonic pelvic floor muscles have irritated the pudental nerve in the inferior rectal branch and it has in turn irritated the muscles so I was having incredible pain after bowel movements all day for a long time but that stopped now and I only have a small amount of irritation if that now but also if I get constipated it will flare up. I am also checking out the pathways chronic pain app. it's a free download and it might help
Hi, What dosage of Agmatine did you buy? I would love to know what your pain doctor says about it. I read more negative than positive reviews of gabapentin and I encourage you to very slowly titrate down. Yes, I am using CBD products internally and externally (for aches and pains). I am using full spectrum suppositories vaginally after a BM. Not anywhere near 750 mg. I use 100-200 mg suppositories at a time. It takes the edge off. I am considering medical marijuana. The People's Pharmacy has a radio interview with a Dr. David Casarett in which he talks about the use of cannabidiol oil and medical marijuana to treat nerve pain. He apparently was against it but now promotes it. I have not listened yet. I just tried to load it at the web page but looks like a loading problem at the moment.
I just started private sessions with a hypnotist by ZOOM that I took a 8 week mindfulness meditation course with last fall. He has had success with eliminating pain for pelvic pain and even nerve pain. Yesterday was my first session and I can't believe that I had hardly any pain with my BM this morning!!! I follow his script for a tapping/meditation session before the BM. Who cares if it was the placbo effect! it is wonderful.
Keep in touch.
Hi I think we have communicated before but I was wondering with regard to your message above about buying Agmatine if you had tried using this yet and if it had helped with your Pudendal Neuropathy pain? Thanks
I bought it but I never used it yet because I'm very sensitive to medication so since my low-dose muscle relaxer and my low dose gabapentin is helping I don't want to mess with anything right now as I'm sure you'll understand but when it's time to titrate off my meds I'm going to go straight to the agmatine and probably the pea... Have you tried it?
I’m using Agmatine, combined with PEA and Hypericum Perforatum 30c and it def seems to work.
Hi, Some questions. May I ask what nerve you are treating? What is PEA? What dosage of Agmatine are you using? Sorry for the questions. This is new to me. Thanks.
Pudendal Nerve. Since my capsules are 1 gram i take 2 a day. Recommendation is about 2,5 gram. PEA is short for palmitoylethanolamide.
Have you had any side effects with Agmatine? How much PEA do you take a day?
I got confused... what is your dose for agmatine and then what is your dose for pea? Oh and also are you on any other meds? I'm trying to figure out how to come off my other meds and go on these two unless I can take them together
I take about 2 capsules of PEA every morning and 1 at night. If I have a bad day I take one extra in between. I capsule is 400 mg. I take 2 capsules of Agmatine, since mint are 1 gram each. Best dose is 2,54 gr a day according to studies. If you take Agmaset, you can take 3. I haven’t tried Agmaset yet, but some people have better results with Agmaset compared to regular Agmatine.
Thanks for the reply. Have not heard of Agmaset. Your answer gives me the incentive to restart my research into this. Like Kalecolbe12, I am sensitive to medicines and the reason I did not want to try gapapentin.
Anna, I forgot to ask - the Agmatine is for the PN irritation. What are the purposes for the PEA and Hypericum Perforatum? Thanks.
Hi I wondered what type of pain you have? I have pudendal neuropathy and I have read it might help with that. Can I ask how much you take and do you take the PEA separately? Thanks
Hi the FB group I'm on there's a few that have tried it very successfully...
Hi, What FB group are you referring to? Thanks
Hi, I thought I would try you again. What is the FB group you are referring to? I am still trying to gather information on side effects, dosage, etc. Thank you for your time.
I’m sensitive to meds too. I’ve tried Lyrica, but besides the physical side effects it made me really depressed and I actually didn’t want to live anymore. I’m now just trying to find the right supplements and in general I’m already doing better. Of course I just had a few really bad days.
