Hi

I’ve got a bulge at the front of vagina , low back ache and dull aching in abdomen occasionally,

Gp said she was worried something was pushing on the bulge after she examined me and felt my abdomen .

Seeing gynaecologist tomorrow just wondering if anyone had any of these symptoms please .

Thank you

Hi

Just wanted to find out how you're seeing a gyno whilst we're are in lock down.... did u get a drs referral?

Asking as I've been side lined until lock down is over and my pain is awful.

What area are you in?

Thanks

Blue, you must get seen by your GP, hospitals are not closed to anything not CV related. You need to be properly assessed so that anything sinister can be found quickly. You must insist on seeing your GP and referred asap to a Gynae appointment. It is unacceptable that you are being denied this and should remind the GP of the enhanced assessment rate under the 2 week rule. Good luck, don't give up, insist, plaese.

Hi

I had exactly the same symptoms that you have described. I spoke to my Dr and I was given a consultation same day with female GP. I was then referred under the 2 week cancer programme and received a Gynae appointment the following week. An internal examination and a biopsy of my uterus was taken and had the results within 3 days assuring me there was nothing sinister and that I had a prolapsed bowel. This was followed with a further abdominal scan which again showed nothing remarkable. It has left me reassured but I will consult my GP again to see if surgery is appropriate as I am suffering with dragging abdominal pain and spotting blood. I hope that you are ok with the scan , I won't go into detail about my experience. Good luck and please let us know how you got on x

I had similar problems. I used my Benenden health insurance. On applying to join they ask no health questions. Cost me about £11 a month.no claims until you have been with them 6mths.

The doctor advised using them as the wait would be more then 3 weeks Benenden will pay for consultation if the wait is longer. They will pay upto £1800 for my treatment .With a few things along the way I had to pay for. Consultation was £100. Worth every penny. The Covid-19 shutdoor was coming fast. I was still able to see my consultant. I have had 3 consultations and have now transfered to NHS. Still seeing the same consultant at a private hospital.

I had a pessarie fitted at the first consultation. As it was uncomfortable I returned a week later. 3 trip was for reassurance.

I would advise asking questions at the consultations. my consultant seem to think the pesserie was the 'best thing since sliced bread'. I got no advice a leaflet might have helped.

I have other posts back in March this year on this problem. Have a look it might help,

PALS at the hospital will help with dealing with consultants. Every NHS hospital has one.

give them a google.Google PALS and the name of your NHS hospital.

I have decided you have to be well to be ill dealing with the administration getting to see a doctor/consultant.

Good luck. My experience was that I had to fight every step of the way: it's awful but please do keep on at them. It took months to even get a confirmation from my GP that anything was wrong, more months for a consultation, then eventually a date for an op which arrived after I'd moved 200 miles to another county where they do things very differently.

Hope your gynae appt goes well and you get seen quickly - I was diagnosed with a prolapse and given a leaflet about hysterectomy, but no advice on how to manage it. Fortunately I found info online from a different hospital region and went back to ask for a pessary which made a huge difference.

Now I'm still using a pessary but have also had diet advice and physio which mean I can manage the condition without the op, and I'm happy to do that for as long as possible. But I was on the verge of giving up as my GP and consultant didn't even think about how I could live with the condition for nearly two years.

Keep fighting!
