Hello everyone I am currently suffering with pain in my lower left pelvic region probably the ovary. My dr thought my ovary might be twisted but had a scan which concluded it looked normal. I don’t know what to do I have a history of problems with my pelvis including PID from an infection after a miscarriage the infection was of thought to spread to my left ovary. I was left with chronic pain but since Xmas the pain has been consistent and at times been as bad as labour my pelvis also feels swollen at times. I’m going to go back to my go to push for some answers. I would appreciate any advice moving forward many thanks Lynda.

I would ask to be referred to a pelvic floor therapist so they can assess you because they are the ones to go to when your scans come back normal and no one knows what to do with you also probably should see a pain specialist.... these things can be neuromuscular
yes they are usually in the physical therapy group and they specialize in the pelvic floor so you have to specifically ask for a pelvic floor physical therapist they are all over the UK but I live in Arizona so I don't know specifically where but there are other people on this site you can ask that are in the UK and they have a pelvic floor therapist
As you say could be any number of things. Might be a process of seeing a neurogynaecologist and/or colorectal consultant or a women's specialist physio to undergo tests to try to find the cause of your pain. It can be very stressful when you don't have a clear diagnosis.
I have been seeing my specialist physio (NHS) for 3yrs now who performs treatment for bladder and bowel conditions and problems with my pelvic floor.
What works for me is a combination of meds, painkillers, antispasmodics, botox injections into pelvic floor and specialist vaginal trigger point therapy with my physio.
Moving forward im afraid it can be a long journey of seeing appropriate docs as without a diagnosis you are limited to what treatments and medication would be right for you, it's a process of elimination.
I wish you good health and hope you get the answers that will allow you to manage your pain and move forward with appropriate treatment.
