Lower right pelvic pain :(

Hi All.

Just wondering if anyone have experienced anything like I’m experiencing right now.

Few weeks have past where I been having a dull ache in lower abdomen then contracting like pains only in the right pelvis area that can last from 10-30seconds each time, they come and go throughout the days but mainly when I am relaxed.

I had a IUD (Marina Coil) inserted around 5 weeks ago. I originally when to the doctors Thursday and doctor suspects coil have embedded in my uterus wall although my strings are still visible and possibly suspects cycts on ovary (due to my mum having them at around my age). So she sent letter referral for a scan off ovaries, uterus, Fallopian tubes etc..

Saturday come and pains were stronger and closer together. I when to the nearest hospital to see the out of hours doctor, she felt my stomach and seen I was tender on the right pelvis side, urine and pregnancy test both negative, so she called another hospital and told them to expect me and referred me for suspected appendicitis!

So I go to that hospital there to have yet another examination again, a urine test to be sent to lab and also 3 vaginal swabs. I was told to take paracetamol for time being, wait for letter with a scheduled date for a scan and to call back on Tuesday for swob results!

I’m kind of confused due to being told 3 different things by 3 different doctors.

As I said pain is not always there, the contracting like pains come and go, I can have about 30 of those pains 1 day and have about 2 pains the following day?

Anyone experiencing the same or have done in the past and maybe know what this could be?

Thanks in advance

X

Hello there. I'm terribly sorry to hear about your pain. Your symptoms have a few possible culprits. If you haven't already done this, I would suggest a pelvic exam followed by an ultrasound. Depending on your insurance, I would also take it 1 step forward & get a CT scan. This should ensure accuracy if you get a dr with experience regarding your pelvic region. Do you have any other symptoms such as irregular heavy & longer than normal periods, frequent urination, discomfort around your bum & constipation? Cyst & fibroids do come to mind. Getting tested should show a clearer result to your issue. Ask questions & always get a 2nd opinion, etc. until your are satisfied. Never leave the Dr's office until your questions have been answered. I hope you feel better soon.

Thank you so much for your reply and information :)

I had swob results back and all come back perfectly fine, had internal examination and all seems fine!

Still currently waiting on scan on my ovaries etc... so right now it’s a waiting game, doctor won’t do nothing else untill I have my scan unfortunately

Sadly it always seems like it a waiting game with these doctors but I'm glad you're moving forward. Getting these test done will narrow down the issue & I really hope that everything will be resolved so you can get on with your life. 🙂
