I suffer from chronic pelvic pain with no current diagnosis. I take 10mg of amatryptaline a night.
I was feeling considerably better at one point so stupidly came off the tablets and the pain came back full force so started takin them again.
I then did some research and saw you can’t take these whilst trying to get/ are pregnant and had a breakdown because I really really want a baby at some point but I would not be able to cope as the pain is too much and I wouldn’t be able to have sex and also there would be a mental block.
I’ve been reassured everything looks healthy and There’s no reason I shouldn’t be able to get pregnant but I know it can be affected by your state of mind. Has anyone successfully got pregnant with chronic pelvic pain? And if so is there an alternative treatment to amatryptaline during pregnancy?
Please don’t give me the horror stories I just want to have some hope...
Thank you x

Flexeril is safest during pregnancy as it is the same chemical make up as Amitryptiline it will have similar benefits.ask your doctor of course but I have pelvic pain and it's been wonderful for me and my doctor had said it's even safe for pregnant women but as I said I am not a doctor you have to check on that
Thank you for your reply much appreciated. I’ll speak with my doctor and check. I’m not doing anything else at the moment. I think PT will be the next viable option but I don’t want to go with the NHS as I think there will be ridiculous waiting times and don’t mean to be patronising but I’m not sure they will be as good.. what are your experiences with pelvic floor physios?
I have an amazing pt..she does mobilization and external trigger points as I am not ready for internal... She has even helped my hip and knee pain because of the mobilization on the hips...
Look up David McCoid dct he had pelvic pain for 14 years and got rid of it by using these methods of workouts. You need to get rid of tension in your prime mover muscles that are putting strain on your pelvis. Look him up and contact him he is very helpful
It has helped me my range of motion feels great I still have a lot of issues but as they state in the course it takes a long time to get rid of muscle tension
Yes I know it takes a long long time..I am in my 4 th month of pt and I also took muscle relaxers for 3 months...I am definately improving and I can handle things much better mentally and emotionally but I am curious about davids program ...glad it's working for you
