Anyone got any experience of Naproxen and other NSAID's in Chronic Pelvic/Chronic Non Bacterial Prostatitis Inflammation?

I want something to get the inflammation down in the groin area. I've had Naproxen for sometime but I have been reluctant to take it because I've read that it can spark off Ulcerative Colitis - and I do have anal symptoms as well as front ones. Some studies recommend it though

Any thoughts?

I think it all depends on the underlying cause of your pelvic pain. I don’t know enough about mine yet but I do know, from having a rheumatic disease, that long term NSAIDs are very bad for you and cause gastritis, GERD and even stomach ulcers. This is certainly what happened to me prior to diagnosis - although Naproxen works brilliantly for my widespread pain. If you try them be sure to also take stomach protection daily.

Chronic Pelvic Pain/Chronic Non Bacterial Prostatitis is so wide it can hardly be said to be a diagnosis - I think I've got the Prostatitis part of it; having another test which might shed more light

I just want something to reduce the inflammation - thanks for your view; I find all the drugs I've encountered over the past couple of years haven't worked particularly well, if at all and come with a heavy price tag in terms of potential side effects - antibiotics are worse for me - doxycycline was absolutely dire

I might have a little NSAID dabble

Your choice of course and I know nothing about your condition but I do recommend that you take good stomach protection with NSAIDs.

I found no pain killers or NSAIDS helped with my pelvic pain. Lorazepam helped some but is not good long term as tolerance sets in. Beware of NSAIDS. I took so many over a year or so for low back and plantar fasciitis that my kidneys were severely affected. 6 months of prednisone followed that. Carefully read the cautions on the package!!
