So I just been diagnosed with posterior wall prolapse and potentially anterior too. I had a traumatic forcep delivery in 2017 then 15 months later had another baby all natiral birth. Doctor is referring me to a gynae physiotherapist. Never really been aware of prolapse problems before. Didnt expect to have it at such a young age so really anxious about what happens next and what my future will be like in the pelvic region. Any reassurance or advice or help would he great. Thank you. X

It is a very emotive thing. I'm now seeing a women's health physio who is brilliant. If it is mild to moderate prolapse avoid surgery. Exercise and lifestyle changes can considerably reduce it. I've only just started but seeing the benefits already. Mummy mot is a great new initiative.

Thank you. Good to know. I'll have to look mummy mot up. I've been given app details for 'squeezy' so got that to look at too.

It is really important to continue any pelvic muscles exercises regularly. Build them into your daily life whenever you can. anytime you are standing - cooking, ironing, waiting in a queue, practice doing them. It is like a daily workout for those muscles which bear a lot of weight and are stretched when we have babies.

Having had a TVT Mesh operation, with complications, I would advise you to avoid it if possible.

You are young enough to regain a lot of muscle strength. It is good that you are seeing a physiotherapist with experience of gynae issues. Listen to her advice and enjoy those lovely babies!

Thank you. Yes I've seen a lot of negatives about mesh. Not sure how long the waiting list is for the physio but I've been given an app to use in the meant time for pelvic exercises. Hopefully that will help get things started.
