Hello everyone.

As many of you may know I had radio frequency done today. See previous post on replies for what was done. Now I'm really convinced about this home remedey. My burning has returned and I very swollen in the vaginal area. I think it is partially the fact that for several hours I was completely numb. I didn't feel anything which was very nice. I also finally slept after 5 days of no sleep from suffering. All along I've been using coconut oil about 10 times a day. It helps promote healing and decreases inflammation. It takes the edge off while it's on for the burning. It must be organic unrefined Virgin coconut oil. I was basically in that tortuous pain before and I couldn't take it anymore. I am swollen and the burning is out of control. I remembered my coconut oil. I put it on both vaginally and rectally and it made a difference. It doesn't take it away. But it does help. Put it in the refrigerator. It really feels nice. Of course make sure you are not allergic because that will cause a bigger problem for you. But most ppl aren't allergic to it. Try it it does help. It just helped me a little. God bless us. Deb

I have it and will try it! I use feminine ice pads that I keep in the freezer and put a piece of paper towel around it and treat it like a mini pad. That helps a lot as well. I was having a really bad night last night and it helped a lot. I got them on Amazon

I'm not losing hope in the radio frequency either I can tell you this much. I definately have less burning tonight on the right than I do on the left. I was losing hope earlier. But I think it will take it little time before I can actually judge. I'm not sure how this works. If I should see immediate changes right away or does it take time. I'll keep you posted. I'm gonna call the office tomorrow and inquire also. Deb.

Interesting.....You could always apply it to the pelvic floor wand then insert it rectally.

I've had rectal pain for 4 years.....tried just about everything.

I assume it would be fairly safe.

Hi pafen!!! Have u used the wand and does it work? I have severe ibs along with the horrific rectal pain. I have tried everything!!!! Trying to get in with a new pelvic floor specialist who does biofeedback and trigger point massage and so many other things. If u have seen my other posts I'm about to lose it!!!! Every morning is hell!!!! I have incomplete evacuation and then burning cuz stool is acidic and then the butt pain starts. Can't take much more!!! My pelvic floor specialist now won't let me use the wand as sometimes I have to manually evacuate and she said this causes problems with the Levator muscle. I'm screwed either way. What did u have rfa for? I was suppose to have that on my neck years ago but now decided against it. Pain is ok. Hope to talk to u soon!

I actually use internally on my rectal fissure and it has worked better than the medications I was given for the fissure. I stopped using the nitroglycerin inserts rectally and have been using just coconut oil. It hasn't been open in a 2 months. Some of my doctors believe me others don't. My specialist does and now recommends it to a lot of his patients like us. The one complaint he received is that it is messy. Yes, it is but if it helps and takes the edge off why not use it. It also helps with the dryness and sometimes those cracks that we can get. All of my granny panties are ruined not that I care and most of my sweats are stained. Just wash them right away or now I dab with toilet paper so it doesn't run. I must worn you that it will clog your plumbing. To advoid this. Wear gloves and just throw them out. Hope this helps. I researched the benefits of coconut oil. It can be used for a lot of things. I will also take sits baths with it in it and baking soda. God bless us. Deb.

Put it right on your vagina. All over and your rectal area. It really takes the edge off for me when I use it.

Hi Debra! So u sit in the coconut oil and also rub it on your butt? I have Levator ani where my butt hurts like crazy!!!! Inside. I'm so done with all of this. At a complete loss!!!! Thanks for your help!!!!!

Debra13 profile image
Debra13 in reply toKaren1954

No don't sit in it. Actuall rub the coconut oil on your rectal area and on the vaginal area with your finger wear gloves for sanitary reasons. Switch gloves from each area. Ok. Anything I can do to any of us. 😩

Hi Debra!!!! Thanks for replying so fast!!! It is greatly appreciated. I never knew there were so many people that have these types of problems. I'll give it a try!!! Anything to help!!! The rectal burning has a lot to do with my incomplete evacuation as stool is so acidic. I hope u find answers for your problem too!!! It's just unreal for us to have these issues. I would love to be normal again!!!! It's been four years since this started!!! Health is so important!!!!!! Talk to u soon I hope!!!! Please take care.

Yes. You to. I hope it helps you. I will also act like a lubricate for you to help pass the stool. I promise you that. I often get constipated and fear I'm going to rip open my rectal fissure again so before I go to the bathroom I put some on my rectum so the stool passes easier. Put a little up in the opening. Ok. I have the same thing along with Pudendal Neuralgia, IC, PFD, I have to remove manually too lately. The pain I have been in for 9 years and I can't get anything stronger than hydrocodone. It takes the edge off but doesn't last all day. I have had trigger point injections, probably a total of 4 years or more of Physical Therapy.

I work full time. I am at my wits end. Thank you so much for the idea of the coconut oil. It worked way better on my fissure than the medicine. I am going to also do what you say about rubbing it front and back. I want to say thank you for sharing or I would have never known.

Hi Betty!!!! This just sucks doesn't it!!!! I take hydrocodone too because of my neck surgeries but now has been more about the butt pain!!! I don't see how u work with this!!!! This morning my ibs acted up with three hours of diarrhea and my muscle is going crazy!!!!! It hurts soooo bad!!!! Did trigger point injections help? I got into a new physical therapy office who specifically deal with these issues and do so much more than my pelvic floor therapist does not but can't be seen until nov 1. They will call with a cx. I'm saying my prayers I get in sooner!!! I know what u mean about your wits end!!!!!! I can't do anything but sit on a heating pad and take meds!!!! I can't take much more!!!! I can't believe how long u have been dealing with this!!! 9 years?!!!!!!! I just want to be healthy and normal. Am going to Stanford in two weeks for the ibs as the four gi docs I've seen here haven't been able to help. I have the ibs and Levator and it sucks big time!!!!!! I pray that we both get better. I wish u nothing but the best and hope to hear from u soon. It's nice not knowing u r alone in this. I don't think people understand how devastating this is!!!! Talk to u soon!!!!!

Debra13 in reply toKaren1954

Try warm sits baths ok. Try them since you sit on the heating pad go into the warmer side of water. It will relax some of the muscles and out half tea spoon of coconut oil in it. Don't burn yourself. Check water with your wrist ass that I am went in water too hot once. Lol

Debra13 in reply toDebra13

That's supposed to say put a half of a tea spoon of coconut oil in it.

Karen1954 in reply toDebra13

Thanks Debra!!!! So I can put the coconut oil in the sitz bath. Yay!!! I do sit in one often. I did find a new pelvic floor therapists who works internally to help the muscles!!!! I'm so excited but I can't be seen until November 1. I hurt sooo bad today as I had diarrhea for three hours which made the muscle work so hard!!!!!! I can't take much more!!!!! Drugs aren't touching it!!!!!! I hope u feel better soon as always!!!!!! I hope to talk to u soon!!!!!

Your so welcome. I had to find something better than what they were giving me. Read up on the stuff. It's pretty good what you can use it on. I hope you all take some sort of acidophilus and stool softners if you take pain meds. I have to. I hope you all do. But always consult with your doctor first ok.

Interesting reading about the benefit of coconut oil. Could I ask you what sort you use and is there any difference to the cooking type as I would be interested in trying this.

Do you source it from the internet or health shops?

Thank you

How I discovered using coconut oil was actually by mistake but it was a great mistake. A few years back I had gone to a brilliant man doctor William Ledger who just recently retired. Believe it or not years ago he actually told me when the burning got very severe to use crisco cooking fat. I was very taken back. So, I decided to read up a little on line if coconut oil could hurt the private area before I tried it and nothing I have read had said anything to that nature. So I began to use it. I must tell you all it is not the actual oil. It's the solid that I use. I also must tell you that the only negative thing I read once was that you need to take acidophilus while using it. But I don't know how much of that was true since it is supposed to have anti fungal properties to it as well. Everyone please If you are nervous do your research on it. I must tell you. It is the only topical over the counter even over medicated that I've tried that has helped me the most. Like I've told you all my specialists in Philadelphia even made a compounded medication for me of cymbolta, baclofen and gabapentin with coconut oil for external use. He also tells his patients to use it now. Lol. I don't know if I hit on something. I had just figured since it's all natural and I figured crisco might be too fighty that I should try this. It does take the edge off. Especially if it's cold. At least it does for me. I hope this helps. Good luck. Deb

My third nerve block helped a few days. Going in for Radio Frequency Ablation on Wednesday. Today , I asked the physiotherapist to do the ART technique to deal with the pudendal nerves. Not sure if it helped at all yet. The therapist went the opposite direction last week and tried kegel exercises. I though I would die three hours later. I was in bed for four days . Three days of burning pain. Like a route canal. The only thing that helps is ice. My pain doctor told me my hips were tight and do lying down piriformis stretch. I did that this week. After 3 days of the stretch I went for a walk and felt a knife like pain in my rectum. Piriformis stretch is not going to work. I'll let you know if something else works. What a nightmare.

Hello. I'm going in today for my second time in radio frequency. I'm very nervous. The first one gave me some relief since the 19 of August but I'm afraid my pain on the side we did had returned. I can only say that I've been under so much stress that I believe it has influenced the first procedure. I'm hoping to go in positive today and not let these personal issues get to me. I do really think this procedure does work for some of us. Wish me luck guys. 😢Deb.

How did you get on Debra? Hopefully you got some pain relief.

Got some organic coconut oil and applied it. Brilliant ! I will now get a big tub (but I'm slightly worried about the drains!)

Thank you so much for recommending it Debra.
