There's Acupuncture, Symtomatic Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese style Acupuncture. All very difficult to find the right one for you. I favour the Traditional Chinese Style Acupuncture using the meridans. I tried Four Acupuncturists before I found the one I am with now. I'm unsure what type different countries allow. Some research will be needed. But in my opinion, training of at least 3 years is essential and also  many years of experience. A few Acupuncturists have advanced training.
