Hi everyone how are you all doing ok I hope? The problem is I keep on getting spasms especially at night when I am just sitting watching tv. I sometimes get them about three to four times a day and there are quite painful at times. And I was wondering if anyone knew how to keep them under control thanks I hope someone can help me as its starting to get unbelievable.

My spasms are at night. As soon as I lay down and decompress from the day. Sometimes they wake me up they are so strong. I am going to try Epsom salt bath before I go to bed to relax the inflammation of those nerves. Maybe that would help. Also try laying out on the sofa at night to take the pressure off. What drugs are you on?

If you use a dialator or wand to massage and stretch out this could help, have you seen a physical therapist?

Try 1/2 a Valium .5, crush and mix with olive oil, apply internally. Sometimes a quarter will do the job. Nothing works better. Best at bed. It is a muscle relaxer in every way.

Hi Pinky2233

I have LAS and take 3 .5mg valium orally each day ,but I have never heard of what you are suggesting. I get spasms a lot, sometimes just laying relaxing and sometimes standing. Sorry to ask, but where do you put this mix and how do you get it there? I also take painkillers which are not strong enough so dont work and I am in constant pain. This sounds interesting. Did a doc or physio tell you about this. At present my only option appears to be botox, which I am scheduled for end next month but from comments on here I dont suppose it will work.

Thanks

I take valium orally but since spasms are pelvic this works for the spasms. Have taken both at same time but suggest lowering the oral based on the internal amount used. I would consult your doc but pts recommend having it compounded. Two pts recommended crush with olive or coconut oil just a drop. I put it internally just inside the vagina or wherever the spasms are . Def calms down the spasms to sleep for me. Only thing that helps. My pharmacist recommended crushing a quarter clonopin for pain mixed in. He said people can mix the two. I would def have your pelvic doctor weigh in on amounts so it is safe.

I have pelvic spasms 24/7. Levitor muscles don't stop. Always in pain. Trying botox injections.

Hi I also get spasms/twinges mainly in legs/groin sometimes all over though. What causes these ? I have suspected endometriosis. These spasms are getting unreal.

I went to the Drs yesterday as I was doing but the only thing was she said that she couldn't give me anything for my spasms as my cereballar ataxia is really bad at the minute and I would fall more with the medicine that she would have given me. So she has written to the pyiso department instead.

Yes I sure will anisha X

All I can suggest is that you go back to your specialist to ask his/her advise. I am sure this is something your specialist has come across before. There are anti-spasmodics that could be prescribed after consultation with your specialist who will have a better idea as to the cause and best medication to prescribe to help you after reviewing your patient file to take a look at your medical history and treatment to date. It may be a separate medical condition such as gall stones for instance which cause very bad spasms. I hope this helps.

Thanks for that cvbn

Hi, Anne Menzies, do you think that these symptoms started after a fall? Also are they in the pelvic, buttock area or more in the abdominal, stomach area. My pelvic nerve condition started after a bad fall but because I had numbness after the fall it was along time before I could feel where the problem was, my pudendal nerves. I just wonder if you could identify the area that triggers your spasms.

I don't know it's been a fall but I have been getting numbness for about a year now. I never even give that a thought.

This is just a up to date on my spasms. And I went to see the for a review on my cereballar ataxia and I was telling her about my spasms and she has put me on gabapantin (300 mg) I have to take one every night. Thanks for all the help and advice on this matter.

I have this also I'm waiting for a nerve dr to go ahead with Botox as that seems like the best way of treating it, a Thera wand dose help but the best thing I find to help it heat on the bottem in bed, dispam(Valium) dose really help you will wake up without the spasms and sleep well but it will come back in the day I understand why the dr didn't put you on it because it can make you sleepy but I find pregablin/gabapentin is a lot worse feeling drunk everyday but dose really kill nerve pain.. Also a lot of Drs will find a way out with giving dizapam because it's apparently addictive I agree a little because since I have stopped taking it I can't sleep but I recommend her to send you to a uronurologist to try Botox if you other illness will mix causing more harm all the best message back if you need to xx
