Pelvic Floor issues: Does any one know... - Pelvic Pain Suppo...
Pelvic Floor issues
Hi. I am from virginia. I currently am going thru PT. What symptons are you having?
Well I have tight pelvic, and its now effecting my low back and glues.. Also severe ED along with tight thighs..
I have no pelvic pain. All discomfort is in gluts, thighs and lower back. I have spasms and tightness.
I have had all kinds if tests-MRIs, CT, colonoscopy and even had coccyx removed.
Currently going to Pain Management Dr. Had unsuccessful bilateral PN nerve block. Dr has me on 3o mg of baclofen for tightness and spasms and two 50 mg of Tramadol for pain.
Baclofen has helped with spasms and tightness but you need to start slowly on this muscle relaxer.
I have also been to physical therapy.
Got copy of Amy Stein's book on Healing Pelvic Pain. This offers some good stretching exercises as well as massage techniques. I highly recommend you read.
I have not come across any Dr who can definitely diagnose PN. Their options are based on ruling our skeletal problems and eliminating other ailments as cause for discomfort.
Very few people have nerve entrapment and it is my understanding PN entrapment can only be diagnosed thru surgery and surgery is not usually a cure.
Try some analgesic topical rubs as well. Hope this helps. Rocky68
Yeah, I agree. Seems like we have some of the same issues.. Mine has just got worse and worse. Im going in soon for nerve blocks.
I found a really good PT trainer at the Cleveland Clinic, I should get nerve blocks in 2 or 3 weeks. I was wondering did you have a accident? if you don't mind me asking. I fell on a bicycle seat, during a crash.. sucks But I don't take anything for pain, I just deal with it. But the low back and legs seem to be getting tighter as the years go on. You are soo right doctors will NOT much help.
I am beyond being embarrassed about this. No accident. I am 68 and have dealt with this for six years.
I worked part time in sales at sitting position. Once I came home I felt not if pressure and throbbing near rectum. As time went on I had feeling of need to evacuate bowel. It was so bad I had to take something to sleep. I would feel fine in morning but by two was back in pain thus all the tests.
Went to orthopedic Dr who gave me a ganglion impar shot but that did not help. The MRI showed I had dangling inverted coccyx. I found specialist in Charlotte who does the surgery and I had no problems recovering
However this did not fix problem. So more Drs and tests and PT until Pain Mgme Dr. I am like you I don't like to take meds. I am hoping muscle relaxers will reverse cycle I am in by releasing nerve and tightness along with stretching and massage. I am very much Tpr A personality and have caught myself clinching nc holding my breath so I think rather than neck or back becoming tight my pelvic area felt all the pressure
You probably damaged muscles and we have many layers of fibers in pelvic area. Any Stein's book is very detailed and written in a manner everyone can understand. Let me know if you find anything which proves helpful. Rocky68
I forgot to add. Dr Stanley Antolak in Minnesoya has excellent you tube presentation you can google and listen to.
Drs tried me on Gabapentin for neuralgia. I definitely could not take this med as all I wanted to do was sleep.
I also tried 25 mg if Amitriptylene for two and half weeks but it did not help. You have to be careful as some if these meds leave you very depressed (as if we aren't depressed enough). I have had no bad effects from Tranadol or Baclofen.
I have always been active doing yoga, golf and yard work. I found I can do things on days when I feel well and next day I have to relax
Hi I'm from the uk but suffering with tight pelvic floor, i have sexual dysfunction from pelvic walls being to tight and i have pain in buttocks i had surgery from my spine no nerve damage but still suffer a lot and kind of wondering what drs will help this issue i can take pain but not sexual dysfunction,
i also have found out i have an overactive bladder that is causing my incontinence
diazepam helps a great deal to stop buttocks pain n help relax the pelvic floor but no real help to get back to normal the pt has said to relax manually with a thera wand but that day and night is not really working if the pain is coming from my pain in my back and causing to spasm, I think there is a big crossing of pain and tight pelvic floor, I'm wondering if any other specialist is worth seeing for a result to have sexual function and normality a little
I have been given baclofen too and believe this will relax the pelvic floor and take pregablin and diazepam daily I'm hoping to get a response to see what specialist can deal with this issue and hope you get some relief from my post
Yes we both should get better. I have sexual disfunction.. and I hate it with a passion." I mediate helps a little bit with ED, but not much. Pt helps me a little to and breathing exercises. I had spine surgery last year, in Germany it fixed my back but did not help with pelvic symptoms. I had a bad disk and I found Germany ONZ was the best I could find. Can you tell me how those drugs help? I have not tried them..
I'm so sorry to here that.. I hope for you some relief. My spine doctor is in Germany ONZ team. They are in my option one of the best out there.. If you have a current MRI send it to them asap for a free second option. I was not fussed they don't like to do that from what I understand."
Theres a guy name KEN Hiebert you could start by contacting him.
Dr. med. Bernd Illerhaus, is the one I liked the most VERY professional. He's on top of his game. He fixed my back but mine was not to bad. I believe there is another good one that works beside him as a team.
