Cauterisation of Bladder Wall.

I saw a new Urologist yesterday who is going to Cystoscope me on Friday and wants to cauterise the lower half of the bladder wall and insert a nerve block (not Botox).

Has anyone else had this?

Did it work?

He said i would have a couple of weeks of discomfort, 3 months on antibiotics to avoid infection but should be pretty well cured?

I am feeling very anxious about this.

My pain is so bad I am not thinking rationally. I don't want to make a terrible situation into a disaster.

Thank you for your advice.

x

Make sure you speak to other patients who have had this done before taking the leap. It may be fine but it is well worth finding out other people's outcomes. Does the doctor have other patients he can suggest you speak to? I have not had this but I denied many procedures til I found a process toward healing. I understand extreme pain. Stay patient and I hope someone out there can tell you if it helped them before you try.

Does he know he wants to cauterize your bladder without seeing it? I've had mine cauterized 2x now but they did a cystoscopy first to evaluate the condition of my bladder and saw that I had the hunters lesions, hunters ulcers

I felt great for one week then bladder and urethra pain was way worse for 3 to 4 weeks if you can imagine that. Then felt a bit better for probably one month but I also had Botox done to the pelvic floor during that time and then pain returned. The last time was apr 2104 and I think the ulcers are back again but don't want to go thru that again....not sure it's worth it? I would be very interested to know how you work out if you get them fulgurated and also get a block at the same time, plus the antibiotics. That may be the winning ticket?? Who's your doctor and where? Thx

Ronald Miller, London. Not sure I have faith as he hasn't even Cystoscoped me yet. Decided I had Urethra Syndrome before I had sat down.

sorry wasn't finished typing yet.....what is the nerve block consist of? Ie: Kenologue, lidocaine? I know when people are on a continuous amount of antibiotics their pain usually is subsided. I have heard of patients getting ulcers fulgarated then injected with kenologue. But not sure the outcome? I agree w Pinky. Please let us know what you find out as I have same pain.

Thank you.
