Hello, I am 1 year into having chronic pelvic pain and wanted to share a resource which I have found particularly useful. It's a physio practice in San Francisco. They have a post which is about flare ups which I have come back to many times, it's so easy to forget the tools in it, but very useful and calming to read them Summary:
Tell yourself it's just a flare up - it doesn't mean you won't get back on your road to recovery
Remember what helped last time, be that ice packs, TENS machine, hot bath, change of meds
Go easy on yourself and give yourself permission to take a break and relax even if it means letting people down
Thank you for sharing. I've been going to physical therapy on and off for a year now and never feel like l have long period where I feel confident and pain free. Really going to have to try to tell myself that it's just a flare. I've had a really hard time staying motivated to keep on top of my exercises. I really wish I had an in person support group because the feeling of isolation is so hard to bear.
I’m in Phoenix in the city. Have really good doctor and Pt (although she fired me because I wasn’t making any progress, so she didn’t feel like it was worthwhile). Would love to get together with someone else dealing with this disabling pain.
So sorry..just saw this reply now....my email is mbhs21@gmail.com....I am at tatum/cactus area ... Would like to get together I speak with each other send me an email and if you get a chance so we can chat about our progress...thanks,Audrey
