prolapse repair and pain in vagina and rectum

Can anyone relate to this same problem, and what do you do or take to ease this continuous pain in the anus and vagina. My pain is always the same ever since having a prolapse repair. Rectal and bladder 2and a half years ago. I have had numerous procedures done ,2 nerve blocks and I take pregabalin and amitriptyline to help with nerve damage, as after all this time the pain and discomfort continue. What helps besides these 2 medications. Icarnt believe that by having this surgery so long ago we are left to cope with the pain and burning. Its constantly on the left side both rectal and vagina also ive always got an itching sensation in my anus this drives me crazy because as I have been told this is nerves causing that.Ihave always believed that the surgeon who did this to me was to blame as I never had anything like this before. tried suing the surgeon but to avail. this feels like torture every day and night it just doesn't seem to give up for a short time to at least get a rest bite for a while.HELP please

Have you tried having physio by a women's health physio? My burning is in the left hand side in the vagina and also into the rectum, mine has been diagnosed as pudendal neuralga, I have had it since January although the symptons on looking back where there before, I am starting the process of going over tomFrance to see the Professor over there who deals with this and other nerve related problems.

It is miserable, but try and keep your chin up I go for a long walk every morning and a shorter one in the afternoon, helps the mind, body and soul.xx

Hi. yes I have had similar experience! Found learning about the possible causes of this pain etc helped me big time. Through reading other peoples experiences and looking at health sites I was able to get better informed and could talk to my doctor more rationally so I could get the right medication for me while looking for further help. Look at the sites regard pudendal nerve and pudendal entrapment and also pelvic pain. pelvicpain.orguk was helpful

I got so much help just knowing I wasn't going mad as consultants just kept sending me to pain clinics who after finding random nerve blocks didn't work, were unhelpful. One consultant suggested that my researching could be talking me into a pelvic condition! then suggested learning to live with it!! I left that clinic in tears. mainly of frustration.

So keep looking on this site. many others have had similar problems and gradually you will build up a proper picture of what exactly is causing your pain. Just don't give up as there are people out there who can help. So sorry for you as I know what it's like. Good luck!

I have been using valium tablets pushed up there (30 mgs, 3 at a time sometimes) to help "calm down" the pain. I finally was prescribed tincture of opium to put in there as well, which REALLY helps, but can't drive when using it. But when it hurts that bad, my husband does the driving and I lay on memory foam in the back seat!

I'm hoping to see Dr. Lee Dellon outside Baltimore (i'm in US) about the pudendal release) but have little desire to have my buttocks cut in half lengthwise :-(

Get the ebook, or any edition of the book "A Headache in the Pelvis" as a guide for ruling out all the possible causes, but contact Professor Roger Robert in Nantes if you are in enough pain to make the surgery look desirable. Keep us posted, as we are all in the same boat!
