Hello I still haven’t been diagnosed with my condition however is anyone suffering with reoccurring bladder infections? And burning pain around vagina and pinching like feeling around anus?
What do you do for relief? How did you get your diagnosis?
I have seen my GP so many times but I’m not getting any answers and I feel like this is taking a toll of my mental health and relationship

Reccomend you ask gp for a refferal to see a urologist whereby they can run tests and hopefully explain what is going on with your bladder.I suffer with painful bladder syndrome, symptoms are painful bladder spasms, incontinence and painful vaginal area.
Recently prescribed solifenacin and its like having a new bladder. Spasms are now a dull ache and I can hold on longer before i start leaking and needing to go to the loo.
Before covid I was getting bladder neck injections but unfortunately clinics have been suspended. Injections are very good at relieving ongoing pain and urgency.
Hope you get to find out what is causing your symptoms and wish you good health.
Thank you can I ask how did you get diagnosed? What tests did you have? And did you change your diet at all? Also with your new prescription are you prone to thrush or other infections I always get thrush after my antibiotics I’m glad your symptoms have improved it gives me hope
It was diagnosed with my incontinence physio and also my consultant. When I got my bladder neck Injections they put a camera in through the urethra to check for any damage. It wasn't painful just a bit uncomfortable.
The solifenicin works specifically for the bladder, spasms are less frequent and urgency is improved. Because its not an antibiotic I have no issues with thrush. No change in diet except I drink a lot more water!!!
Wish you good health and good luck with getting a diagnosis and treatment that you for you. 😀
You sound exactly like me. Ugh. I have had Uti’s combined with painful burning vagina feeling and extreme pressure on left side. Even after I have finished a round of antibiotics I don’t feel completely right. Saw urogyno last week. She believes that I have IC , interstitial cystitis which has a lot of the symptoms of uti without actually having one. She recommended diet change...see internet for all items that can aggravate your bladder...coffee, tea, carbonated drinks, tomatoes, citrus, etc. I also found warm pack placed on my belly feels good.
It’s a horrible horrible pain! What tests did your doctor perform to diagnose you? My gp prescribes me antibiotics that don’t work and end up giving me thrush
I will look into diet changes to see if it improves. Hope you feel better soon
I had 18 months of continuous UTI's post hysterectomy. A urologist finally found the answer for me....she prescribed a low dose, long term antibiotic, Nitrofurantoin macrocrystal 50mg every night. I was on this for 9 months and recently went off to see if they would come back and so far they have not, This antibiotic has been a miracle for me. Ask your Doctor about trying this antibiotic.
Thank you. I’m glad you’re feeling better. The antibiotics my doctors prescribe me now give me really bad thrush did you have any side effects to the antibiotics above?
I’m not sure my urognyo has a confirmed diagnosis. I had a pelvic exam with no abnormalities and a re tap exam with no issues either. She suspects IC because I have times when no infection with all the symptoms snd pain. However, I think that my pain is usually associated with an UTI snd then continues past the end of antibiotics. Anyway, let me know what you discover. So frustrating snd ever so uncomfortable. Barbara
No, I didn't have any side effects from the antibiotics. This was low dose, 50mg daily. I have developed yeast infections in the past with higher doses, it not on this dose.
There is a company in America called MicrogenDX. They mail state of the art kits to people who can collect a urine sample, send it back to their lab for analysis and find out if a pathogen has embedded in their bladder.
Apparently it is far more accurate at detecting microbes than regular culture in a microbiology lab.
