I had Uterine Artery Embolisation fro my Adenomyosis....which they originally thought was a fibroid and it seems to have worked so far....although was a bit painful after I had it done.....I didnt want a hysterectomy although I may have to have one eventually....just for women who want to keep their womb....is a good procedure to try.

This is interesting because usually UAE is only carried out for Heavy menstrual bleeding or fibroids. Where did you have this done and was it at an NHS Hospital ?

I had it done in Glasgow by a Interventional Radiologist on the NHS....I was down for a clinical trial for a fibroid but they found out I didnt have one but had adenomyosis instead but I still wanted to try it as I had heard that it can work for adeno too so I got it on NHS.....the results arent as sure as for fibroids but it seems to have worked well for me so far....fingers crossed....here is a linkfibroidoptions.com/adeno.htm .

The procedure for me wasnt painful but afterwards was bad but I feel it was worth it now as I have not that heavy or painful periods as I used too....It used to be agony and I was bedbound before I had it.
