Sometimes you can get so busy trying to be everyone else's anchor that you don't realize you are actually drowning! (I saw this on FB this morning)
I ask every Monday what any of you have done to take care of yourself - either mentally or physically. I get very few responses - if any.
I just hope that everyone realizes that you matter. You should feel important enough to know that you deserve to be taken care of time to time. Most women are caretakers.. always making sure everyone else is 'ok'. Are they 'ok' though? Who takes care of you? You know best what you need.
Who better to care for me, than me?! All too often we do for everyone else until we have nothing left for ourselves. What good can come from that?! We empty ourselves for everyone else. We have to take the time to 'fill ourselves' up.
Please remember your importance. Caring for ourselves is our responsibility. We matter.
I hope you think about this today.

Donna, I think that sometimes you are so busy trying to care for all of us that you may on occasion be the one who is drowning! I appreciate all the efforts you put forth to answer our questions, guide us down the right path, help us make good decisions…..take time to “fill yourself up”. The last person we want to se burned out is you, sweet girl!..I made fresh salsa this morning….if you were closer you would get a bottle!!!!!
What a kind and warm reply to read first thing in my morning. I do try to take care of myself... I feel my water aerobics twice a week is for 'me'. You are right that I could do something more often. Going to Hilton Head, SC on Saturday will surely fill my bucket for awhile. I love salsa and chips!
Now I am, but in the past,I have always put others first - I've been a carer most of my adult life, as well as working full time till recently. I'm no longer a carer, and am working part time. Xx
