Hello everyone, I have been diagnosed with PBC over 7 years ago. I just joined and read a few comments about feeling, looking bloated and weight gain. I went a year without taking Urso, due to no medical coverage. I lost 30lbs but have been back on Urso now a year and gained some back. I am understanding from the comments Urso and Ocaliva has side effects of weight gain, correct?
Also, the fatigue is bad in morning and evenings. But I take Tramadol to control the fatigue and joint pain. I don’t know how I would be able to function with it.

I wasn’t able to take URSO and have been on ocaliva 7 years. I actually lost weight on it and I had none to lose. Other than that my internist has had more difficulty keeping my tsh in balance. Ocaliva can interfere with thyroid function. My tsh is from one extreme to the other. Other than that I had no issues.
Hello, the Dr has checked throid too but all is well. Just the bloated feeling and some periodic swelling in my feet. I wonder if having PBC if can try the new weight loss pens.
My thyroid was removed when I was 16 so I’ve taken thyroid meds since then. I’m 70 so thyroid issues are nothing new to me. But more trouble since ocaliva. I know nothing about the weight loss pen you’re referring to. I could use a weight gain pen, lol!
It's true that some folks do have bloating and weight gain on Urso. Could it be your diet that adds to the problems. Are you eating 'gassy' foods? Do you have a history of any GI problems in the past? It's so hard to know what causes what in so many of us
