Blood shot eyes

My eyes are dry and feel like they've got grit in them and are blood shot anyone with the same problem

Hi Barney,

Dry eyes, and mouth, are a common feature of PBC, as well as another auto immune disorder, sjorgens disease.

I’m 4 years post transplant, and still get both, but not debilitating in my case - just annoying!!

Yes I know that feeling - I’ve been prescribed Hylo-Forte drops every 4 hours during the day and Carbomer gel at night - works wonders!

Also have you noticed if your mouth gets dry and you always have a drink by you or suck sweets?

yes. I also have the extreme dry eyes and mouth. I take Salagen 3x a day for it. It helps you make saliva and tears. It’s awesome.

Glad to hear someone is having positive results with this. I’ve just been ordered this but have not started yet. Does it help with a dry throat too?

I’ve been on it for years, so I don’t really remember how dry my throat was, but I do have an issue swallowing. Some textures of food always make me choke, so I just avoid them.

I hope it helps. One time the Salagen was $200 to refill and I was not going to pay that, so I literally ran out and Omg, it’s worth the price. I picked it up the next day.

it is not a cure all, I still use the Systane eye drops under my expensive freaking dry eye contacts and all that, but it is huge improvement in my quality of life. I hope it helps you. ❤️
