Sweating at night

excessive sweat at night

I am 32 years old

My TSH is normal

My LFT are within normal range

anyone having excessive sweats at night time?

What other tests should I do?

Seriously they don’t seem to take it seriously, it is not normal

It started the past couple of months.

My room is cool

I only sleep with one blanket and with barely any clothes.

I have always had hot hands and when I went through menopause I had night sweats. You are I believe to young for the menopause, I wonder if you are on any medication that suggests night sweats as a side effect in the patient information leaflet.

I have copied some other causes of night sweats from an English web page which might give you some other ideas relative to your own situation.

The most common reasons for night sweats are:

menopause symptoms ("hot flushes")

anxiety

medicines – some antidepressants, steroids and painkillers

low blood sugar (hypoglycaemia)

i am not taking any medication except for Urso

I’ve done blood tests to check thyroid TSH but is normal range

So I don’t know

The night sweats are a challenge- and can be quite common.

Nobody has found a link with PBC, its mechanisms, etc for all the patient community knows it’s a thing.

The liver is responsible for over 600 different jobs- one of which being your thermostat. So if your liver is not 100% normal or involved in other processes, then temperature modulation can be difficult.

Some patients talk about solutions thay work for them- cool showers, damp tea towel on back of neck at night, some have spoken of a product called a “chillow” which may be still available.

Please be reassured it has nothing to do with blood test results or even cell change in the liver- it’s just something that happens. Hoping other peeps on here can be more helpful.

Lupus was the cause of my night sweats. I was showering in the early hours of the night and changing nightwear, always had a towel handy and/or a damp flannel, bought a floor standing fan, the fan helped most of all.

Diagnosed with mild SLE years ago which is stable now and the drug hydroxychloroquine helped a lot. I have Sjogrens which I believe causes sweating as well. Maybe speak to your doctors about it and see if there's anything else going on.

what blood tests is SLE and Sjogrens called?

This is what google came up with.... for Sjogrens its SS-A (anti-Ro antibodies) for Lupus its Anti-nuclear antibody test (ANA)

I had terrible night sweats, head and upper body mainly. I adjusted my bed, raised head part, you can try extra pillows if you don't have an adjustable bed, and that seems to have helped quite a bit. I have had PBC for about 10 years, mainly stable on Urso. Hope it might help you, night sweats are horrible.😔
