can you take antibiotics

hi I’m wondaring if it’s ok too have antibiotics with Pbc I have a throat infection and willl have too see a doctor tomorrow but I’m scared about takeing any medication can anyone help with easeing my mind

as far as I am aware there are no contra indications with antibiotics and PBC. Hope you feel better soon.

Hi, I have chronic tonsillitis, which was the reason for my blood test that found the elevated levels of liver enzymes. That has taken a back seat with the PBC but I was assured by my specialist that antibiotics are fine. Hope you feel better soon!

No problems taking antibiotics ...diagnosed 12 years ago and have had antibiotics on numerous occasions . Infact I had some just before Xmas for a chest infection .

I have taken antibiotics, steroids, and just had shoulder surgery- all ok. I would check with your doctor. Hope that helps!

Hello Lena 211, diagnosed in 2001 with PBC. Took antibiotics several times. Never advised otherwise. Had transplant in 2014 and have had occasions to take antibiotics. Never been a problem. Good luck Lena!
