Hiya!
An internist suggested that mixing the urso with fenofibrate has shown good results for patients with PBC. I was recently diagnosed with PBC overlap AIH.
Are any of you talking it together? Any insight that you could share with me?

Hi, I have had PBC for over 12 years now. Have taken ursodeoxycholic acid since but last year stopped responding to it. Consultant kept me on it and added benzofibrate. Numbers came down but haven’t been followed up since the start of this year
Thanks for replying. What you've told me is very helpful! Do you have any other autoimmune besides the PBC?
Yes, underactive thyroid, endometriosis , raynards, sjorgens and systemic sclerosis
Do you experience joint pain? I got positive centromere a and b antibodies suggesting systemic sclerosis, but I haven't seen yet another doctor, different from the hepatologist. He told me he cannot comment on that. My hands are getting worse and worse, weak and achy in some of my fingers joints. How do you treat your systemic sclerosis? how was it diagnosed? did you have PBC discovered first and then the rest? Sorry for asking so many questions, but I'm going down a road that you have already experienced and your testimony is super helpful for me.
Hi, I was diagnosed with PBC almost 3 years ago. Annual blood worked showed elevated liver enzymes. Was initially prescribed ursodeoxycholic but reacted with a terrible rash and stopped taking it. I have been on Fenofibrate for one year with no problems. It has helped keep numbers low, including cholesterol. However, recent lab work shows levels are a bit elevated again. I had been very strict with my diet (no gluten, dairy, sugar or processed foods). I stared over indulging in many of these foods about two months prior to testing and am curious if that could be the reason for my levels going up. I recommend anyone who has any autoimmune disease to do research on the AIP Diet and decide it it’s for them. I do believe avoiding inflammatory foods help. Take care and God bless you on your journey.
Thanks for replying. Your response is very helpful. I will look into the AIP diet. At the moment I'm being very strict with my diet, avoiding fat and sugar mainly. Hopefully the fenofibrate will keep working for you.
