Does anybody take CBT oil. I have been advised that people with PBC should not take this. If you do let me know the result please.

Do you mean CBD oil ? I've been taking it for over 2 years , both my doc and Consultant know. I take it for insomnia , it helps me sleep and relax . It has made no difference to my liver results
I read this with interest. I would like to try the CBD oil for anxiety. I' ve heard from some people that they found it very helpful. I asked my gastro doctor and he consulted with a liver specialist. They said that not enough studies had been done and therefore they didn't want to recommend it. I don't want to do anything to upset the balance I have reached so I didn't take it - but some days I just feel nuts. It seems like CBD might be less harmful to me that taking a prescription anti-anxiety medication. Did your doctor ok the oil? By any chance , do you feel calmer when taking it?
Thank you for you replies. I contacted the PBC Organisation and they advised me to read the research papers. They have sent me the document. I don't know how to upload it on here. But if I am sent an email I will forward it to you. Regards
Like Buddy 2017 I’ve bern taking for the last 3 months it’s certainly helped with my joint pain and sleep
I have tried it in the past and it makes my numbers spike. It’s happened twice now. I would just keep a close eye on your blood test if you start taking it and don’t add in any other variables so you know exactly what the causes if your numbers go up or down. Good Luck and keep us posted
hi i have been taking CBD Oil for 20 months now and my joint pain is very much reduced and not feel quite so tired still got some dry eye but the new hydro extra eye drops really help. Also LFTs have stayed level
I wrote earlier that I had asked my gastroenterologist about taking CBD oil about a year and a half ago and at that time, he did not want to recommend it. I brought it up again this past week during an appointment with him. This time, he shrugged his shoulders and shook his head and said you can find it on the grocery shelves these days and go head and try it. See if it helps. I was surprised but excited. I am going to try the CBD oil that you put drops under your tongue, assuming that it gets absorbed there and is not processed through the liver. If I feel calmer, I will report it and will also keep tabs on my liver function tests. I've been wanting to try this for a while but didn't want to take anything without my doctor knowing and approving. From what I have read (not much yet) from the CBD website, they suggest that you start with a low dose and slowly increase the dosage. They suggested that it might take a week or so to feel any different.
