ALT or ALT

I am confused most people on here seem to pay attention to ALP reading being high my consultant and GP seem concerned with my ALT which is rising steadily, ALP and Bilirubin are well within range. Hope someone can throw a light on this

Yea, it's weird. And now I'm always concerned about my ALP. What's really important is Albumin, Bilirubin and of course Alt and Ast too. A low Albumin and high Bilirubin is not great.

Laboratory features

Biochemistry & Haematology PBC is a cholestatic liver disease in which there is disproportionate elevation of the ALP and GGT. There may be moderate elevation of the ALT or AST but very high transaminases should raise suspicion...

Don’t confused ! Alt is equally important as alp along with Ast and bilirubin..if ur alt is the only one going up than it can be the liver inflammation or flare. Good luck

thanks for that I have been having a little discomfort in the area of my liver recently its just strange that most people on the site report ALP which is why i was a little concerned. just sole destroying when I've been so kind to my liver this year it has decided to flare up, I'm 10years into diagnoses and been stable until now.

You have already made 10 years u will make it 20 more! I have already 2 biopsies within 4 years of pbc/aih diagnosis!
