Hi guys thank you for your replies. I took your advice and went into Pinderfields. I got let out on Saturday, with a sick note for a month, to start with, until medication and everything else is sorted. Except the small fact that my hoss has said I have to work tomorrow...on a sick note. Can he do this. Thanks x
Sick note.: Hi guys thank you for your... - PBC Foundation
Sick note.
I wouldnt think so thats illegal where do you live
I do not believe he can but I know nothing about employment law. Can you telephone the PBC Foundation this morning to see if someone can help? If not your local Citizens Advice Bureau (think there may have been a name change) may be able to help. If you have a large company is there a Human Resources department of whom you can ask this question? Sorry not to be of more help.
I hope you are feeling better now you have been treated.
That sounds very wrong and I'm sorry you have to deal with an employment difficulty on top of your health situation. I don't know if you are in touch with PBC Foundation, but if not, you will benefit from it. My consultant told me at diagnosis to contact them straight away because they would be the best help. They have been. He was right. They push ahead in every direction that you will need to support you with PBC. Even our close friends can't know what it's like to have PBC, but Collette at the Foundation lives with the condition and her son Robert knows what it is like. They give reliable all-round information and updates on PBC. They empower us to take charge comfortably of our individual situations. They are compassionate and always encouraging. Compare this with what first doctor I spoke to told me "It's incurable and you're too old even to be on the transplant list". He certainly didn't mean to be unkind, in fact it was helpful because I didn't wait to get home before I contacted PBC Foundation. I hope you do too because you won't be disappointed. Very best wishes to you!
Thank you for your assistance everyone. I have not contacted pbc foundation yet but I will do tomorrow. I need help here. Still rather unwell jaundice still showing and today I feel terrible. Tiredand have a horrible brain fog. My spelling is off, I am having to rely on predictive text. My boss has said i have to work tomorrow and its like you feel obligated. But i am not well enough.....so am going to let him down. He cannot force me to work on a sick note, I have been researching employment law. If I am caught working on my sick note, any money I am entitled to could be stopped. I don't know what to do other than put my notice in. Also jow do i claim pip with the AIH PBC overlap. Thank you.
Hi Vespa, I don't know about the claims, but with brain fog the forms would be really tough for anyone to manage? Is there CAB or similar where you could get help making the claim? Vitamin B12 deficiency and low Vit D can cause brain fog - have you been tested/supplemented for these.
When I didn't know which way to turn or have strength to put one foot before the other, I rang PBC Foundation. They are real people and they can help. Hang in there - x
Hi 220681ok...went to the doctors for my bloods today came away with treatment for vitamin D deficiency....it showed up in my last bloods 2 weeks ago, so yes...i have tbe AIH PBC overlap but also hashimotos thyroid disease which I have no treatment currently, its just a watch abd see thing...but there are links between hashimotos and vitamin D....
Good you got vit D supplement now. Even small steps in the right direction help so much?
If you google Collette's vlog on u-tube, you will see Collette Thain who is CEO of PBC Foundation. In either September of October vlog she speaks about benefit claim.
What you will notice is how kind and approachable she is, and she has had PBC for many years and knows the score inside and out. You will see that joining the Foundation isnt like joining a remote organisation, it's like being with people who know and accept you how you are in the moment - they will offer advice if you want it - if it affects you - they are on it. You won't feel alone after you contacted them, and all these hoops you have to jump through will seem much easier. Best wishes...
