I feel sick all the time does anyone else. When I was first diagnosed with pbc the consultant said you will need omeprazole but after a while I stopped taking them as I felt I didn't need them. Would this help with the sick feeling . please help.

Feeling sick
I don't know if it would help but my dr wants me off omaprazole and to use non medication for indigestion, sickness.
Are you on Urso? That seemed to improve that "sick" feeling for me. Before I started with Urso I used to wake up feeling hungover even though I don't drink alcohol. I also occasionally take Ranitidine for excess wind which sometimes makes me feel sick.
I stopped taking it as I didn't like the side effects it gave to me and I asked my GP for Zantac instead, the ones I take are 150GM but my consultant says i should take 300mg but I am sticking with 150 as and when I need them, but i don't take them all the time just if i feel really bad as i don't like to take lots of meds that I don't need. You can buy Zantac 75mg at the pharmacy so you could give them a try and if you feel better then ask for them but be sure you ask for name brand Zantac on the prescription or they will give you the cheap crap and they are not as good IMO.
No I don't take urso anymore ifelt at one time that I was taking far to many drugs and I could barely do my job I was so confused do I cut out loads my consultant said there was no proof that it worked anyway. He's not my liver consultant how this makes sense as imnpt very well just now.
You have pbc and you're not taking ursdiol? I would love to quit taking it only because of the cost. Mine cost $215 a month and when I get into the donut hole here in America it will cost will cost me $500 a month! Has anyone else stopped taking urso or cut down on the number of capsules you take? I am positive Ama and my lfts are a tiny bit over the normal range. I have no symptoms currently.
Someone in my PBC group on Facebook directed me to a website from merckmanuals.com. It calls omeprazole a potentially hepatotoxic drug. I hope you feel better.
Omeprazole was reported to increase th e likely hood of Dementia by 44% on the national news a month ago! It wasn't the only one either. Be careful.
