I had my wca last week, I am waiting the results. I to know that I am not fit for work. Will You ask for a mandatory reconsideration? Have you been told to claim Jsa? It is disgusting to be treated in this way. Its obvious that a person with liver disease would not be able to work a forty hour week and maintain their health.
Can I ask you how long it took from your wca until you received their decision? I have a lot of bone and muscle pain and the dreaded fatigue but I don't have the itch. I also have osteoporosis in my spine. How does pbc affect you and did you score any points?
No advice here only respect & understanding. I'm self employed & its tough. But I can't imagine working for an employer again. I've had, over the last 2 weeks, 5 what I can only describe as ' episodes' dizzy, pressure across my eyes & nose, feeling nauseous as if I'm about to collapse. Everything slows down. I can't walk & just have to lie down. After a period of rest I can get on with stuff again. Yesterday's was do bad it knocked me for 6 all night. Because I'm self employed I am able to take these rest breaks. If I worked fora company they would have got rid of me by now. At the time of an assessment for ESA I would look fine. My Dr has told me to stop working. The government tells us to work ourselves in to the grave. I wish you success with your application. Your right no one understands. Xx
That happens to me.
Hi, I have PKD, I went off sick last year(|Dec), due to my illness, I finished working for a local government in April by July/Aug I was getting ESA, but tax credits due to having 2 children, but I am in the middle of a tribunal for P.I.P. but they keep knocking me back. I have a benefits advisor and a kidney advocate who has been a great help, so you have to keep appealing, so you need a letter from G.P. and any consultants as well. Good Luck. Keep me informed.
I tried for ESA earlier this year only to be told no and I would be put on jobseekers. So I told them I wouldn't go on jobseekers. I couldn't take it further as I was so stressed so now I am just living on my savings.
I had to get a citizens advice person to write a letter after I was refused, she knew how to phrase it better. Also got a letter from Doctor and specialist stating I was physically not able to work and that I would not improve but continue to decline at whatever rate the illness progressed. They also said about my joint/muscle pain, brain fog, extreme fatigue and how ever day is different. Hope helps but couldn't have done it myself.
Did you get esa after this and if yes, what group?
Yes but work group! Had to go to work assessment or have everything stopped. So I went and after a few questions the assessor couldn't believe I was there but had to continue appointment. I asked him to fax my specialist/doctors letters to make sure they got them and after this I was put into support group and have been since.
I just got told today scored 0points and have to apply jsa. I will be asking for mandatory reconsideration and taking the above advice from above.
I received esa but this was just recently awarded as i am now down to half pay from my job and had a liver transplant at end of June. Hope you get sorted think the more documentary evidence you can give i.e. dr and consultant letters the better to support your claim. Best of luck.
Search for Fightback4justice page on Facebook. They have lots of info on completing ESA and PIP forms and lots of templates. You can also contact them and they will even assist you in completing the forms, appeals and even tribunals. They are a charity and if your successful they ask for a small donation. They are very successful.
