Back Pain : Hi just wanted to ask what pain... - PBC Foundation
Back Pain
Hello cavi.
Well the only thing I can think of is paracetamol. It's said to be ok to take with PBC despite the packaging stating liver 'disease'. I know it's recommended after anyone with PBC or for investigative for liver problems having a iver biopsy to take paracetamol following if needing pain relief.
I'm pretty certain NSAIDs aren't recommended but the best thing would be to seek advice from either the pharamacist or giving your doctor a ring.
I have read on the booklet that is produced for GPs for patients with PBC from the PBC Foundation that most drugs are deemed OK to take unless you are at a more critical stage with PBC. The rule would be not to overuse them I'd say.
Hi Cavi,
I'm taking 15mg of meloxicam as my painkillers.
Hi Paopao Doctor has given me Meloxicam to try have been taking them for 4days 15mg only one a day not feeling much improvement at all yet how long did your's take to work many thanks Cavi
Hi cavi,
I have been told that it is safe to take up to 3g of paracetamol a day, but that I should not take any other pain meds, especially not Ibuprufen. However, due to some other issues I have had chronic pain since I am a teenager and I take for stronger pain co-dydramol or co-codamol which are available at different strength.
