PBC back shoulder pain?

PBC pain did anyone also feel back pain? Just wondering because besides the right upper abdominal pain I also have a pain in my back by right scapula.

Yes, up through right shoulder blade and up to shoulder .

Thank you Angel66 for always responding. I really appreciate all of your help and advice. That’s good to know because my shoulder blade had been bothering me for three weeks along with the upper right abdominal pain.

Hopefully once you have had your ultrasound and other test results ,you will find out if pbc . I am on Urso and ocaliva and still get the shooting stabbing pain under right ribs and ache up my back . X

Can I also ask you does it bother you more when you are sitting upright in a chair? Or when does it bother you most?

It doesn’t matter position, I do get relief with a heat pad though

Hi Lorelle. I get pain in both scapula and a bit below them. I have asked Doctors and they say it's not related to PBC. However, I also get itch and cold burning sensation in that area too. Currently it's itch in that area with no rash. It's driving me crazy. Hope you get some relief and knowledge about your pain.

Yes I get itch in that area too with no rash. I have to use a back scratcher to reach to scratch every night at bedtime drive me crazy too.

Hi.Maybe it is pbc. I've tried antihistamines but they don't work.

I use peppermint and teatree cream it helps for a short time.

When does the pain bother you more when sitting upright, standing, laying down? Mine seems to be worse when sitting in a chair.

Hi.No sure, when its painful it is there for days, probably worse when I'm active I think. No pain these days just the itch and burning sensation and it's worse in pm and night, also after a shower.

Hello all I've suffered from back pain sciatica nerve pain in hips or lower back a few times out of the year that sends me to ER only thing that numbs it is Dilaudid and they don't like giving to you. ITCHING is your far the worst thing I've experienced from PBC and nothing I mean nothing they've tried worked. My last resorts were Plasmheris and currently phototherapy have had 22 sessions of the UV light treatment. It's done through a dermatologist office. Thank God I am able to still work. I use back scratcher all day then at night my feet itches and burned. So with Dr permission I've taken children's liquid benadryl to fall asleep at night since 2017. I've had two liver biopsies first one internal bleeding was hospitalized a 7 days. The second one went better and confirmed I have PBC primary billiary cholangitis July 2017. I'm so miserable drained from this itching. I've been seen at The University of Michigan and they've did test for about everything and confirmed I'm a candidate for liver transplant. I go back to see them in June to discuss being placed on donors list. Please pray will do the same for you🙏🏽😢I'm very scared of the thought and whole process far as having an organ replaced. I've lost two sisters age 56 and 58 the past few years one to small cell lung cancer the other 6 years ago brain aneurysm was in comma six months died 3 months after my mom transitioned. I'm 55 and a nervous thinking of transplant just to stop itching and is that a guarantee? Although I trust the Lord I'm human and get anxious wondering if I'd survive 🤔 Happy Mother's day everyone!!
