I've got low vitamin D and one of my symptoms is severe anxiety and panic attacks. Not sure if these are related. Someone suggested taking magnesium alongside vitamin D to help with the panic and anxiety. Has anyone had any luck with magnesium citrate helping with anxiety?

Vitamin D and Magnesium
Hi Chocolatelover
Sorry to hear you are suffering panic attacks and anxiety. It’s probably one of my top 5 worst experiences - so I really hope you find how to keep them at bay.
I was deficient in so many things including Vitamin D and magnesium, that’s it’s hard to say which deficiency was the culprit.
I am no longer deficient in vitamin D or magnesium but I do find that anxiety and panic attacks still raise their ugly heads when I was low on B12 and more specifically B6. As these are both water soluble I keep them topped up and reduce supplementation more gradually than I do with other supplements such as vitamin D and Magnesium.
I take my magnesium with milk before bed with a little gated nutmeg as it helps me get off to sleep.
A Vitamin B-complex may be worth a try?

I had the same problem. Now taking VD and magnesium it has helped a lot
Magnesium Citrate is a laxative. Unless you are needing to poop I would try another form such as Magnesium Glycinate.
Epsom salts and a nice soak in the bath. Eat your nuts, especially Brazil nuts. Both more gentle ways to get magnesium in the system.
