Rapid Heart Rate & Metallic Taste

I have had palpitations overnight and a strong metallic taste in my mouth since starting Iron tablets.

I started B12 injections in November last year and have been on Ferrous Gluconate tablets now reduced to one every other day.

Was wondering how long this may last, please advise - Thank You

Hi.

Some tablets especially night tablets can give you a matalic taste.

If it is Zopiclone please don't worry as they have been known to give others I know.

I've been on them over 25ys butlucky enough not to get that taste.

It has nothing to do with your B12 injection.

If its not that tablet ask your GP to change it if it unbearable.

But I may just go away..

If you're not on any night time tablets please ask your Doctor why this is happening if it is just iron tablets at night.

Have you had a ferritin blood test score? Suggest you run the palpitations past your GP.

I started to get palpitations around about 6-12 months in to my daily injections. After a month or so they went away. They would typically happen at night. Additionally my resting heart rate was 100-110+, it's now 70.

I'm not suggesting to not get a doc to look at you. If they do and all is normal, it could be part of the healing process.
