Hi everyone and Happy New Year. I have recieved the above B12 ampoules which are Hydroxocobalamine 1000 ug however the volume inside the ampoule is 2ml , I usually inject just 1ml Panpharma is it safe to inject the 2ml and does this equate to 1000ug, thank you

The Hevert B12 depot1mgx2ml are absolutely fine . I used then for a few years myself . Yes they are the normal dose of 1mg , but in 2ml of saline . Makes no difference . I think that 2ml is quite a large amount of liquid for a sub-cutaneous injection, so I would use I.M.

Best wishes .

Thank you Wedgewood, I hope to order Panpharma next time . I will do IM.

Be careful with regular 2ml injections. Twice a week is probably OK, but any more frequently may overload the muscles. Talking from experience.

Thank yyou Pickle500 I am injecting IM weekly so hopefully will be ok.

Hi Heliborous, the 2ml is the volume of the ampule and as you already know does not translate directly to the dose per ug (mcg). Check the packaging and you should see something like "each ml contains n mcg". I have seen this as "each ml contains 1500 mcg' and on others "each ml contains 1000mcg"

If it's the latter then your 2ml ampule would equate to 2000mcg.

I've been injecting subcutaneously 2000mcg every 4 to 6 days for the past three years and it's perfectly safe.

Yours quite possibly could be "each ml contains 500 mcg"??

Yes Rexz you're right the 2 ml ampoules =1 ml Vit B12 is 500ug ( in German of course) Hydroxocobalamine which is the same as Panpharma. I'm sorry I did French and not German all those years ago. 🤔Thanks and Happy New Year

Hi Helliborous,

Rexz, has pointed out the dosages. You have established that it is 1mg in 2ml. One thing to point out, if you are a ‘weirdo’ like me is different formulas have different additives.

(I have Coeliac disease and lots of severe intolerances) so changing brands, I drop dose down because I do not want to be a wonky donkey. You may be completely different because we all are.

Best wishes

HI Narwhal, all interesting answers here to Helliborous question, me a weirdo like yourself, undiagnosed coeliac, so gluten intolerant at least. I use hevert 2ml also use panpharma would any additives in these affect me? dairy and nightshade shy too.

If you do not have any reactions then that is your own personal biochemistry. We are all individuals and one size does not fit all. 😀

I wonder if that was the cause of my loading dose 10 years ago, I got really bad reaction, red face ,itch, headache and generally feeling unwell, enough to put me off getting them again until my GP noticed chemist gave me cyanocobalamin instead of hydroxocobalamine and I can tolerate that just grand 😀

I am sorry to learn of your reactions to cyanocobalamin. Thank goodness the GP spotted it. I am pleased though Hydroxycobalamin causes you no problem.

Unfortunately, people can have reactions to all types of things from pollen, to additives, toiletries, food and medication. I am severely intolerant to baby oil. After having my legs waxed once, I had to abruptly tell a beautician NO. Apologising profusely, I explained.

Best wishes

It's usual to not inject more than1ml into deltoid but leg and glute muscles should be fine for that volume.

Hi Scotlad2, thank you it should be fine as I inject into my thigh muscle 🙂

I just wanted to add, the Hervert B12 really burns when I inject it and I don't like it at all. Ankermann has not burned and it is the 1ml ampoule. I prefer Ankermann. I have never found panpharma or tried it but everyone seems to prefer it. Ankermann is good though.

Hi Hillsborough, that would be the yellow box Hevert B12 Depot.shop.apotal.de/vitamin-b12-...

That's the 2 ml ampule and that's the one that burns when I inject. Too much liquid to inject and it burns me pretty bad. I don’t know if Ankermann has hydroxy, i can't seem to find any, but I seem too be doing good with Cyano.

Thanks EllaNore, I've always use Hydrox so I'll have to stay with Hevert for now and hope Panpharma are avaailable soon.

Hi EllaNore, the only link I have is to enter into google versandapo.de ( then click on English ) at the bottom of the page. They do have Panpharma Cyancobalamine but Hydroxocobalamine is currently unavailable they are both 1ml. Good luck I am in UK I don't know if they ship to US.

Ok thank you so much. That is my experience too, so I always end up with the Ankermann cyano, due to my discomfort with hervert.
