Imbibe B12 Ampoules ?

hello, seems a strange question. I decided to try some Panpharma ampoules and the stinging is unbearable. Sane needles, tried different spots same awful stinging. Give me pain injecting anytime over this. There is no way I m going to inject even 1 ampoule.

So rather than waste them I can either use them topically, or use sublingually. I favour sublingual use will it be safe to drink, should be considering it goes into our bodies subcutaneously or I.M.

Cannot find answer online.

Thanks for reading x

Dear Wheat,

I am sorry to learn. Please do not drink or use sublingual. It can be administered subcutaneously. Stomach is easiest and if you have some padding.

Please look up technique. I was taught at a 45 degree angle and remember that we only need about 0.4 mls.

😘

I would try a numbing cream first of all . ( I’ve seen an advert somewhere for such a cream for people who have Botox injections ) Or try a different brand of B12 . I would not take it orally . Topically is no use because B12 can’t get through the skin , as it is such a large molecule .

Hello wedgewood, thank you for your advices and information. I still use pascoe and Oxford biosciences Mb12 daily but thought id try Panpharma to see what it was like. Best wishes, x

I find they do sting unless I inject it VERY slowly. I usually take around 2 minutes to inject the 1ml, then its all good.

Hello topazrat,

thank you for sharing your experience.

I always inject slowly. I must have injected a negligible amount each time I tried the Panpharma. I could smell vinegar. I assume its that.

To me the stinging was extreme, I shall think about what to do.

Sometimes I am not too brave or looked at another way, life is difficult and repeating an unpleasant experience is plain daft. 🙂 x

Often the sting is when I first start the injection, but it wears off once a little has gone in for me.

I had some ampoules from GLPharma which contain an additional ingredient to the 2 other brands I've tried. It's sodium acetate trihydrate, and it stung like crazy to the point where I had to give up and use an alternative. I don't know if it's in any other brands, but worth checking. Hope you resolve the issue.

thank you Myoldcat, yes 'stung like crazy' sums up my experience. I think its an addative, probably vinegar as I can smell that. My instinctive reaction is to avoid like the plague. However I will think about it. x

Have you tried other brands, and if so do they all sting? Might be just that particular formulation?

Yes, think its just that brand. Thank you x.

I try and use Pascoe 1.5 mill x I mill as this does not sting at all compared to other 1x1 mill. It's also easier to flick down . I find it's soooo worth the extra cost.

Thank jaybirdxNHM, you are right. Will stick to Pascoe and MB12.

Hello wheat, isn't it strange only last week I enquired about the same problem, but I been using Hevert for a long time and I also have some Panpharma, both of which I have no

Problem with. I wanted to reorder and thought will try the Pasco as it's stronger and maybe get away with injecting less often. I have only tried it once and it hurt so bad, not only the sting but muscle pain down my leg all day, and felt lightheaded and somewhat off the rest of the rest, will have to try again but not looking forward to it.

Hello Myanna23, thanks for your reply.

Yes I remember your post now. It's awful isnt it. Just shows again how individual we all are because Pascoe hydroxy is fine for me!

Best wishes, x

I'd definitely look at the additives. I've had

Panpharma

Accord

Neo- cytogen

Gerot and Lannoch

Cobalamin H

Which all sting a little 🤔

Accord the easiest for me???

I've got some untried Hervert .

For me it was

Cobalamin H I have to avoid .

Has an extra additive.

No difference when Injecting but made ne feel quite ill on 2 occasions so not a coincidence .

Nurse belittled my reaction.

Pharmacist and old member on here spotted the difference in additives.

Always good to have a reason.

My mum and daughter fine with Cobalamin H

As you say individual.

And of course the same brands can change preservatives

Thank you, I agree it must be an addative and for me the sensation was extreme. It is definitely a real problem.

Accord Ive tried twice, does not sting but each time had me running to the loo, excessively.

Also, that brands can alter addatives is a useful reminder to check each time.

Best wishes x

I started SI with Accord which luckily turns out to be best for me... currently using Neo Cytogen. Pharmacist just gave me Gerot Lannach despite my previous alert that I couldn't use it because of intolerable stinging - still awaiting replacement after a week as they say stocks are low 😕

Yes I prefer Accord on my NHS prescription. Made by phampharma I believe

Do accept Gerot and lannoch which does sting .

Initially a problem because of ampoule size being bigger .

The 1" needle i use for withdrawing it not long enough.

Had to get longer needles !
