Extraordinary to learn that in a referenced study with US participants, the largest contribution to B12 intake in their diet was from fortified breakfast cereal!
"cereals (11.7–25.5%) were the single top contributor to vitamin B-12 intake in each ethnic-sex group" from "Contribution of meat to vitamin B-12, iron, and zinc intakes in five ethnic groups in the U.S.: Implications for developing food-based dietary guidelines"
Thank you Technoid . The video was excellent . So well put over .But I was sorry that Pernicious Anaemia was only mentioned in a very perfunctory way . Now that is an anomaly as we know that Pernicious Anaemia is the greatest reason for vitamin B12 deficiency in the Western world .
I am very intrigued at research on P.A./Vitamin B12 Deficiency in Ethnic Groups.
A lot of the research I have read appears to discount this group of people. In my humble opinion they are more likely to suffer due to religious, cultural and possibly, socioeconomic group.
To explain the latter, they may be from larger families, so there is less money for housing, energy bills, clothing and food.
