Hi everyone and thank you for allowing me to join the group. I have an underactive thyroid and recently had a blood test.

My serum vitamin B12 has come back as normal at a reading of 124 pmol/L, my serum folate is 7.2 ug/L and my serum ferritin is at 165 ug/L all classed as normal, is this correct please.

My red blood cell count is 5.28 and my red blood cell distribut width is 13.4%. Could you please give me your opinion on these readings. Thank you in anticipation. 😊

My results are in different measurements.

You should have a reference range in brackets on the right if your results.

Your b12 level may only be just within range but be deemed normal or well into the range.

As your symptoms will overlap with thyroid problems and your folate you were told in range....

One way is to trial b12 oral supplements to see if they improve symptoms.

Wont do you any harm.

Asked for a detailed interpretation of results from your Gp.

Also was vitamin D done?

Its advised to take that in the winter with less sunlight.

Morning Nackapan, thank you for your response. 😊

The figures I have at the side are :- 4.00-5.2010*12/L RBC. B12 -115-1000.00 pmol/L.

Nothing for folate or ferritin.

RBC distribut width 11.50-16.50%.

Vitamin D was not checked.

I would ask for vit d levels. When my levels were very low csn add to symptoms. Ferritin usually has a very wide range and is looked at with your other iron results. If only just in range discuss it with your doctor

Ask for the ranges

Sorry csnt be of more but mine done in other measurements I now can understand.

Your b12 is only just in thd range so supplement
