Throat pain and shortness of breath

I have agonising throat pain and neck pain .Does any one experienced the same with b12 deficiency .My b12 was 125 ng/ml and D3 is 6.8 mg/ml. I have already taken loading doses of 6 injections on alternate days and 5 on weekly total of 11 and also taking vitamin D3 60k weekly. Its almost 2 months now but symptoms of throat pain esp at back of throat , weakness in lower limbs, neck muscle pain and sometimes shortness of breath still remain .I understand it takes time to recover but does b12 and D3 deficiency cause throat problems?

Its not uncommon for aches and pains to seem worse when you start on treatment.

Its also not uncommon for you to notice infections a little more as your immune system starts to kick in more effectively.

I would suggest that you see if a pharmacist can suggest something for the throat and/or get it checked out by your GP if it is persisting.

Aww sorry to here your so poorly. I would get the GP to check your throat you may have an infection.

Also may I ask about your vit D. Its usuallu measured in iu so am afraid I dont understand what you mean by 60k.

Hi waveylines thanks. Yeah you are right they are IU only . It’s 60000IU so I mentioned 60K

Yes. I had terrible throat pain with b12 deficiency and slightly painful swallowing. I got checked out by an ENT surgeon but nothing sinister. I then had a micronutrient screen at GP surgery and found B6 was low but not off the scale. Low B6 can cause painful swallowing. I took 50mg a day and finished the bottle. No more issues. Neck pain still persists 18 months later but I believe that is now more psychosomatic.

Ahhh thanks for clarfying. I assume the 60,000iu weekly is under the supervision of your doctor? How long has he/she prescribed this high dose therapy for?

Whilst your vitamin D is far too low any infection/virus you pick up will probably take longer to fight off. My vitamin D was 3 when I was diagnosed which cause a major bone to break in my leg as the body couldnt absorb calcium due to the lack of bit D. Prior to being diagnosed I had two bouts of flue three months apart both took a good month to fight off. I hope you will feel much better with treatment.

The B12 takes a long time to recover from but the nhs under prescribes after the loading doses many find, which doesnt help matters. If you have any neurological symptoms your GP should prescribe alternate days for as long as it takes. You will very likely have to ask & push for it as many GPs are not aware of the guidelines and for some strange reason are relunctant to do so even when they are made aware.

Hi, 60000 IU prescribed for eight weeks.

Regarding your suggestion on injection frequency I will discuss with my Gp and will push for it
