I got diagnosed with a b12 deficiency and have had 6 b12 shots as part of my loading doses. I have noticed my skin turning yellow on the palms of my hands and was wondering if anyone else has experienced this as a result of a b12 deficiency. I have a doctors appointment in a couple of weeks and will bring this up as I am starting to feel really tired all the time again as my injections haven’t been given in a few months.
This may not be a direct cause from b12 but I will also get my thyroid checked as I had swollen glands in my neck around a week ago, and still have pain at the base area of my neck. (just providing context incase it might not be b12 related). I have been diagnosed with a deficiency, and no tests indicate anemia.
Thanks for any responses, and I hope your all doing well stay safe everyone.

I am not a medic but just found this on Google ........
B12 deficiency can also cause a condition called jaundice, which makes your skin and the whites of your eyes take on a yellowish color. The color is caused by high levels of bilirubin, a waste product created when your body breaks down red blood cells.
I think I would contact your surgery rather than wait for your next appointment.
Thanks for the info, I have just read about this aswell. my appointment is in about 2 weeks, and they are very busy at the moment so I am going to have to wait. When I was diagnosed with a b12 deficiency, my hemoglobin was mentioned also, so that may be connected. My health is manageable at the moment but I will ask for blood tests, or the doctor can decide that themselves. I thought it would be worth asking and appreciate the response
Funny - I was told later that I was grey initially ! It wasn't something I was aware of at the time, but I later saw that when having a recurrence of symptoms - a bit of a "blip" in progress - I would get warning signs, one being a strange yellow-grey colour.
I did a painting called "yellow-grey days" - think I posted it on here, quite a while back.
@bchase : I think still worth mentioning - so that it is on your record, and so that, should regular monitoring be necessary, liver function test is included. Usually alongside FBC, thyroid test, ferritin, folate and vitamin D. as the most likely additionally-affected.
Hopefully that is all it is, time - and of course medical investigation - will make it all more clear either way. Mine disappeared very early, probably during my loading doses.
But don't expect a medical professional to know it can be connected to b12 deficiency. My GP thought it was mainly fatigue and that's that for symptoms.
I had over thirty symptoms, many for years - and at least 80% disappeared during the first month of shots.
hi, before injections I had yellowish palms and soles, my hair had gone white with a yellowish tint. My nails were in a bad condition with no moons.
People told me afterwards that I had looked grey, I have rosacea so this wasn’t normal for me.
I fought to get injections more often, the GP agreed on twice a week for a short while, then once a week but was unwilling to continue so often so I have been self injecting usually twice a week for a few years now.
I still have neuropathy in my feet and some of my other symptoms (I had every symptom on the checklist) return if I don’t inject at least once a week.
I would ask for a trial of EOD or weekly injections for at least a month, preferably around three months to see if this helps.
