Disposing of sharps
I take mine to my local chemist without any problem . No charge .
My local council will collect a sharps bin (and replace with a new one) once a year, by arrangement.
I use my left over multivitamin bottles as they are thick plastic.
Drs and pharmacies here in the USA don’t want to handle them.
The local recycling doesn’t want to know either.
A nurse at my GP explained about the thick plastic bottle and putting them in the bin when they are full. I’m still not happy with that response.
My local council (in North London) supplies my sharps bin. They didn’t ask for any evidence from my GP as to why I needed the bin. I didn’t have to declare what my condition was, it was all very straight forward.
Good luck.
The local needle exchange service will usually have a list of chemists that will take sharps bins for disposal.
