Chatting with my Thyroid UK hat on I would ask if you have had your Thyroid tested and if you have any results. When Thyroid hormones are low then vitamins become LOW too, due to absorption issues and low metabolism. I have looked at your previous posts and see lots of posts on the IBS Forum - and yes stomach issues are connected to low Thyroid. You need to rule out Hashimotos at least.
If you are in the UK then VitD is better around 100 so you would need to take a dose of around 5000 IU's until the end of winter and then test again. When taking VitD it is important to take the co-factors magnesium and VitK2-MK7 - happy to explain.
I had B12 levels of around the 300 mark for many a year and was told all was well. I think the results were skewed as I had been taking a B complex However I now have spinal/leg issues. Folate looks lowish - but you have not put a range. Labs do vary so always good to put in ranges ...
I have Crohns and Low VitD goes hand in hand with gut issues - it is anti-inflammatory and a steroidal pro-hormone and needed in every cell of the body. As the name suggest IBS is a collection of causes - so it would be good to rule out some ....
Only know that vit d3 is most important and there are 4 ranges according to my chart from the hospital that i send to for testing. 30.1 to 50 is insufficient. Greater than 50 is the top -adequate.so you need to top up eith high amount. 400 is the recommended maintenance level but when one is deficient you take higher dose at first. B12 is within normal range but if you have b12 like symptoms or neurological research shows the bottom range needs to be 500 and 1000 to attain optimum levels.see b12deficiency.org.
Thank you.
